Started welding in the rear stiffening kit today... It seems like all I do is (IMG:style_emoticons/default/welder.gif) ..
I'm hoping to get all welding done and get the rest of the car painted before it turns cold so we'll see.. Attached thumbnail(s) |

Finished the chassis stiffners... next, the engine bay and hellhole... These stiffeners were a PITA getting the welder settings right around the suspension console so I had to grind out and re-do some welds due to poor penetration...

I've been pretty busy the past couple weeks getting some stuff off my "to-do" list for the car...
Welded in new rear trunk hinge cups. Made a few patches for the hell hole, old batter tray location, and where the A/C lines were. Welded all those in today. Fitted and welded in the Engine shelf Welded in the battery tray and support. Welded in new door sill triangles on the pass side, since the original ones were mangled by the old AC lines.. Repaired and coverd over the jack post locations and tied that into the chassis stiffener . Only have a couple more holes to patch from the A/C lines going up to the front and weld in the front trunk panel that Restoration Design is making and I'll be ready to finish painting the engine bay/front trunk, etc. Attached thumbnail(s) |

Grinding paint off the car today with the help of one of my budies... 2 grinding wheels on 2 grinders makes pretty good work of it. However, my buddy went through 2 grinders. burnt out the head on one and the motor on the other one.. Good thing for Canadian Tire lifetime warranty (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Just brought it back and got a new one to hopefully not smoke out..
just got a door, half a fender and the trunk lids to go... Attached thumbnail(s) |

Cut, fit, welded in the front trunk pan A/C patch from Restoration Design yesterday. Once cut to size, it fit right in.
