whered you hide your tweaters and cross overs? i was planning on getting infinity components. i got some i my truck that sound pretty damn good, but i did need a small amp to push them. what did you use ( if any ) for sound deadening? whatcha using for lows? or are the JL's taking care of that as well? p.s. i dig your thread theme, in case you couldnt tell by my avatar (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) DAve The tweeters fit inside the 6.5 cones which was nice because I didn't want to cut anything. The cross overs fit under the deck and the climate controller using Velcro tape. There's like a shelf there and they fit perfectly so that the lip holds them in place! I didn't use an amp or a sub but I may in the future. For now I'm just enjoying what this set up provides which is nicer than what I have in the 911! Way better than anything I've ever had in a 914. I originally just blocked the holes behind the speakers with duct tape (crude, I know but it just works so well) but I had a stereo shop tune everything and I think they used Dynamat. Infinity and Boston Acoustics where other brands I considered using. I listened to these speakers the stereo shop and fell in love with them but they didn't fit in my 911 so I kept them for the 914. I used Morel 5.5 in the 911 and, although they're supposed to be really good, I like the JL's better. |

Cool. What about a 914 with a personality of its own - like Christine. Except this one eats zombies.... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i954.photobucket.com-11663-1300676184.1.jpg) I like it. Possessed cars that chase and eat zombies. Oh maybe alien possessed zombie 914's eating flesh eaters across the country. Maybe the 914's could be like super heroes saving people from the zombie Apocalypse. They would be controlled by some alien technology that escaped from Area 51 after the zombie virus was leaked by a careless sex-crazed Army truck driver from a barrel that fell off of his truck while he was sexting his girlfriend and driving on I-40. The virus leaks into the Midwest aquifers and wells. yad yad yad.... cut to 914's running down and eating the undead. Thanks for the graphic! Ah....A bit too much free time on hand?? Anyway the best zombie movie of all times is Shaun of the Dead!!! |

The original Dawn of the Dead is, technically, the best Zombie movie of all time. Unfortunately this cannot be duplicated today with the same quality subtleties and class. Fortunately Shaun of the Dead and Zombie Land are great Zombie movie parities which are currently in their prime... Zombie parity movies that is. 28 Days Later is the best modern zombie movie. IMO |

(and thanks again for the drives when I was out there...) ahahaha! This zombies out for good.... and there are some freshly eaten 997's, 930's, 914-6's, and other tasty Porsches to prove it! The illusive supercharged supernatural vampire Lotus even eventually got bitten! GT3's beware! Here is the thing my midwestern fair weather jealous friends, the Zombie will have to hibernate during the blistering, motor melting, Southern California summers. So mere mortals, like me, have to turn to our very sobering, heavy handed but air conditioned, soft mobiles. And wait for the oven to get turned off again while all of you's out there begin your blissful summers and forget all about me and the Zombie. |

Here's the video from yesterday. Feel free to critique my poor line positioning, steering, and utter lack of aggression when following slower cars. It was actually cold and a little rainy but otherwise nice. I truly am sorry snowed in 914 guys and 914 on jack stands guys. I'd be pissed at me too!

Now I'm like why can't everyday be that much fun?!... I woke up depressed that it was over. |

Note: it is bollocks and not bullocks. 5 point deduction. Sorry, but that's the way it is. Normally we could let that slide but . . I'm a little pissed at you too. I'm at the point where my girlfriend is pissed at me because I won't stop talking about cars, Facebook has alienated me and my friends and family are just plain sick of it too! I'm in some kind of 914 exile. I'm driving the 914 alone to see Patrick Motorsports tomorrow. I think having my car near all of that greatness will humble me a great deal. Thanks for the intervention! |

Spotted you in Yucaipa today, getting onto the 10. Clean car! Awesome... too bad I didn't see you I'd have pulled over and said hello! Yeah I stopped into grab a burger. I only made it to La Quinta today. I took some pictures of a very nice VW Bug Cabrio in Indio and then rebuilt my window winding mechanisms. They work much better now and the incessant rattling has gone away. I'm heading to see Jim tomorrow morning. It should be a great drive... oops sorry guys. I'll try to break down or something.
