We just moved and look what my new next door neighbor has: 1974 2.0!!! What are the odds of that?? Thats an awesome neighbor to have! And btw nice to see a fellow teener who is really willing to drive it til it drops! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) Thank you! Why can't we just drive them until they break, fix them, drive them, fix them, ... so on and so on? |

You should have left the tach out of that picture because according to my trusty stock 901 (/6) gear chart, you would have to spin that engine to just over 7500 rpm to get close to 160 mph ...
(IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) EDIT: Adjusted for the /6 variant of the 901 ... |

It's real!! But there are not many places that one can do this. I think the RPM's were around 5000 at the time. It is a 914-6 trans but the 5th gear is very tall.
The weather is starting to cool again and I've been driving the car more. This picture was taken earlier this year. I probably won't do that again. I like to drive hard but I don't want to die young. There are no old bold 914 owners as they say. I'm looking forward to Willow Springs again in October. I have still yet to compete with this car. I think it will do well once my driving improves. |

I know some great roads in LA County. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i243.photobucket.com-8067-1313982018.1.jpg) |

I know many high school and college level artists that wouldn't have done something as well. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |

On second look it looks to be pencil, but still very nice.... especially for 13.

On second look it looks to be pencil, but still very nice.... especially for 13. wow thanks! I used to love to draw cars... I gave it up at about 16 when I got to actually drive them. It is black ball point pen...my weapon of choice. This was for an 8th grade school project. I made a book on the history of Porsche. It was that year that I bought my first 914 with paper route money. I love ballpoint. I actually worked with pen and ink until one of my college teachers made me do paint.... but then I was hooked.
Again, very nice work. I love the Carrera. |

Thanks for the invite. I'll take you up on that when the car is road worthy again.
That's quite an accomplishment, buying a 914 at age 14. I was still throwing rocks at my neighbor at that age. I bought my first car at 15 - a 1961 VW bug that cost $350.00. I drove it around the backyard until I got my permit.... |

So last year something broke in the tranny! I heard a crunch while out on a drive and soon after I couldn't get any power down. I thought it was a CV joint but they were fine. Today I found this when I opened the side of the 901 box:
