Thanks. Wow! Stunning! Chromecicle.

Utah definitely stepped things up with his PSD skills.
Now I need to find the right car at the right price and get it to the point it's worthy of one of these paint schemes ....

As most of you already know, they came in blue too (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I did one of the "Adriatsicle" inspired by that 911.

That is a pretty cool idea!!! I am starting to think this color scheme can be pulled off with a silver base color and still have the same effect ..... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Very impressive Jeff! How many wheels did it take to build these?

This has been a great thread, I love looking at all the color scheems. I've been trying to decide what color to paint my car for years now. Nice work utah914! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)
What program are you doing this with? Is it something I can buy or download? I always here people saying photoshop but is that what it's called? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) It would be very helpful in figuring out what color combo I want on my car.
Thanks, Paul.

914junkie-

I've been using Gimp. Free and excellent. I've just taught myself by reading up and trying it out. If you want to see any particular color schemes, I'd love to help. Obviously I enjoy it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Wow, those are going to look great. If I were running those, I'd pick some nice meaty tires with white lettering. Or even a blackwall that had some nice looking lettering that could be painted white. Truthfully, they are just going to look awesome whatever you do.

WOW (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif) !!!!! I think the blackened A-pillars and sails have won me over!!!! I was struggling for painted or black sails for quite a few months .......... when coupled with black pillars and trim .......... this pic wins hands down!!!! I did not think a metallic could pull it off this well!!

My next base color problem is between silver or 'yachting blue' from the new panamera.

Now that black sails and pillars have been decided on, it is now between this Blausilber epic example or a yachting blue base color with black bumpers and silver or black wheel paddles ............. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

Can you remove the porsche lettering stripe? Thanks for the great 'inspirational' p-shop so far (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif)

These different paint ideas all look great.

I wanted to give an update about the Ronald McDonald car idea. I did get a chance to talk with the McDonalds owner and he said he actually owned a 914 “back in the day”. I showed him the picture of the car and pitched him the idea of taking the car to car shows and handing out coupons etc, etc. He thought it would be fun and even said he had a Ronald McDonald manikin to put in the passenger seat.
However, He said that he just bought into a territory in Michigan and couldn’t lay out the cash to “do the car right” at this time. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hissyfit.gif)

Just to make sure I get it right, is this the combo you want to see?

Base color - yachting blue
A-pillar - black
Sail panel - black
Bumpers - black
Front valence - black
Side valence - black
Rear valence - black
Side stripe - delete
Wheels - silver paddles or all black

Yes, perfect (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)! The struggle with painted sails and A-pillars is over ...... because your blackened versions look so dang cool (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sunglasses.gif) !!!
