We all know one car where the rear window is leaning "inwards" but there were also a few others guess this list is uncomplete?

This one was a aluminum blocked FI V8 I converted a few years back. It's scary how much like a 914 it drove. way back in the early 90's when i was looking at mid engined cars i was seriously considering a v8 fiero. the stock 4 has the same bolt pattern on the rear as a sbc, correct? what about the handling? i've heard the early fiero's weren't particulaly forgiving. wish gm would've kept developing that platform. |

The 1958 -'60 Lincoln Continental Convertibles also had a reverse canted rear window that moved up and down for ventilation, but also retracted entirely with the convertible top, leaving a smooth transition to the trunk lid with no boot. It was some pretty remarkable engineering.

Been a few years, but if I remember correctly: SBC's or 4.3's etc don't bolt up to the getrag tranny at all. They require an adapter plate and are heavy, really heavy. I went the route of a 4.5 liter GM aluminum block (not the 4.9, too much stroke). It was an easy 280ft tq and about 165hp, but turned a true 1800rpms @ 60mph in 5th. So it was very quick. The engine required no mod's and bolted right up to the getrag trans. Everything under the hood and even the ALDL connections looked as though done at the factory. I had no custom parts. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) Oh, it lost 45lbs over the 2.8 V6 I pulled out. So being an 88' and even more balanced, it handled very well. Attached image(s) ![]() |
