When I was a kid our neighbor had one of those Mercury Breezeway windowed cars ..... uber cool.

The '84 Fiero was by far the single worst shifting car I've ever driven. Makes the 901 tranny feel as precise as the US atomic clock by comparison.

Maserati Merak (and Bora to a lesser extent). However, the window doesn't lean inwards, it's close to vertical.

64 Mercury Monterey, yep. Same here, about the neighbors having one. I remember that the rear window slid down behind the rear seat. Wasn't that the car that has a rear mounted transaxel with a torque tube to the V8 in front?

Nope, the Merc had a 9" Ford rear end. You're thinking of the '63 Pontiac LeMans I think.

Ha ha!! My neighbor still has one !Cream with light tan vinyl interior. It's in good shape,he only drives it about 2-3 times a year.
