I talked with my body work guy again this morning. He's been delayed a bit which is great for me. It will give me more time to get the grunt work done. The car won't go into the shop until at least next week (after Memorial weekend) and maybe a bit later.

BTW - This guy deserves a plug. Steve Lindholm of S.L. Carrozzeria, 3135 E. Birch Ave. Parker CO. 80134 - 303-840-2140 If you are in or near the Denver Metro area and need quality work, I highly recommend him. He hasn't done any work on my car yet, but he came over to my house and looked at my web pics in order to do the estimate for the insurance claim after the moron swiped my right rear quarter. He used to be an insurance claims adjuster so he knows the game. I talk to him almost every week asking questions and picking his brain while stripping my car to prep for the work. He's always been extremely helpful and courteous. He's even willing to let me come and do work on the car in his shop. I hope to learn a lot in doing so. I've seen his work and it's fantastic. Top notch old school metal worker/panel beater.

That's the beauty of this medium. A simple search for a thread with info and pics in it could answer your questions without you even having to ask.

Good news, bad news today.

Good - I dropped the truck off tonight for the trailer brake controller install tomorrow.

Bad - Wife's Mommy wagon sounds like she's managed to go through yet another set of brake pads.

Good - Cowl appears to be decent. A tiny bit of surface rust in the windshield corners, but that's easy to take care of. Caught it soon enough.

Bad - The drivers door has a hole in it and some rust.

Good - I still have a pair of cherry doors from the 72 door mobile

Bad - If I use the other doors, I'll have to do a full repaint to change the color.

The seal channel is really hammered. Somebody really thought bondo and fiberglass weave was THE way to repair rust.

I've decided to push out the schedule. This is taking up too much of my life. Today is my birthday and guess what I'll be doing. It's no fun, and it's become real work at the rate that I'm trying to get it done. I need to talk to my body work guy as he had expectations of a time frame, but I want to wait to get it into the shop until after I get back from vacation mid-July.

On the car: It's not evil to push the sched out. Things are different than you expected. It happens. Take in the new info, and build a new schedule. "life is what happens when you are making other plans". btw, you are making really strong progress -- I am certainly envious!
