Aren't most of those replica speedsters VW's? Thought I saw one with a tube frame but don't remember much these days. Did see a 550 replica done on a VW. Freakin' thing was a taildragger (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smoke.gif)

Easy way to tell if it's built on a vw pan: look at the front floor by driver's knee if it is angular it's a vw. If looks like one continuous curve then it's real or tube framed.
