I have wanted a lfit for my garage for a long time. Since I don't share shop space anymore and I sold the rental house I decided to treat myself. I picked this midrise lift from Greg Smith equipment in Indy a few weeks ago.

I finally got the garage cleanedup and made my ramps (I followed the plans that race914 used in THIS TREAD) and rolled this 74 project car in the garage.

I also have the two stage compressor hooked up. I used the Rapid Air pipe system. Very easy install for your garage or shop. Just cut and click in place.

I haven't been this excited about anything more other than the birth of my son.

So here it is.................

Cool!

I was thinking about getting a small lift for the (home) garage too ... when I'm ready to re-concrete the floor.

Would like to form an 8" deep pit for it to sit in, and a finished-floor/platform on top (to make it 'semi-invisible' when not in use) ... also, wouldn't need to construct the ramps.

I saw a thread a couple of weeks ago where a 911 guy did a really neat install - I think it was on Bird Board?

Best part of it was my wife REALLY liked it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving-girl.gif)

That looks like a great setup you've got. I'm sure it will make hell hole/ long repair a lot more enjoyable. Enjoy the new toy. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Can I ask what is the brand of the lift and what does one like that cost? Does it have any provision to 'lock' it into the raised position? Does the motor require a 110 or 220 voltage circuit? I was looking into getting a two or four post lift, but my garage ceiling has a clearance of 9 feet, so it's a bit too short for most of those.

It looks like this lift would suffice for anything that I would be doing these days. I'm getting old enough that putting the car up and down off of jack stands just isn't as much fun as it was 30 years ago!

I was thinking the exact same thing this past weekend as I was lifting up first one side then the other to continue horsing around with my rear brakes. I don't know about the rest of you, but my eyes don't focus as well at five inches as they used to.

George, Skip,

I got the Atlas TD6MR Mid rise lift from Greg smith equipment in Indy. Here is the LINK for the lift. With sales tax it was right at $1500. It runs on 110V, but you do need 30 amp breaker.

I'm with you guys, I am tired of messing with jacks, jack stands and rolling around on the ground. This lift is very stable, has saftey lock and is very simple to setup and use. I wish I would have done this sooner.

You are more than welcome to come over and check it out for yourself.

Congrats that is a nice lift. I recently made a recess for mine so no ramps needed. Either way it is MUCH better then jack/stands. Mine will lift the car 48 inches off the ground which is plenty for most work. Bought mine used for 800.00. Can you provide a little more feedback on the air lines you installed ? My 2 stage compressor goes to max pressure of 175 psi will these lines handle that ? Once again nice setup and congrats (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

The system I used is called Rapid Air here is the LINK.

It's rated up to 150 psi, which is enough for what I need at home.

Hey, thanks for the info Garold. I was just about to ask if that was PEX tubing for your compressor. Thanks for the link. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

Awesome! No more crawling on your back. Valve adjustments will be so much easier. Congratulations on the new lift.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) .... hmmmmm .... Alt B for my tiny & low 1921 garage that doesn't require my raising the roofceiling 2-4' for a 4-poster. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Nice! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cheer.gif)
