A few suggestions for automotive side activites:
Peterson museum: www.Petersen.org German Autofest in Ventura Nethercutt museum in Sylmar NHRA museum in Pomona Art Center College of Design in Pasadena - they host an annual car event I would like to see a group pic of owners - in front of 914's of course. A "free" event for people who just want to show up with their 914's. A 914world.com banner should be made. More activites for family members who aren't 914 enthusiast... Felix |

I'll second the idea visiting/having an event at the Peterson Auto Museum!
For WCC 2005 I would like to see some more social-related get togethers such as a no-host mixer, BBQ or somehing like that; ideally the first day/night so we could become more acquainted before all the ensuing events. |

there is some great indoor cart racing in SO CAL. this would be an awesome night time group event. i am sure we can get group rates........ (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)
there is also that 3 race track speedway off the 60 freeway in City of Industry. The slick track race is my favorite. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/clap56.gif) and when we are done racing, we can go cow tippin' in Norco. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

(Scott & Howard) How 'bout the beach party - Mikez can be Annette fulla jello. That way he can grope himself. Scott can be Bobby Darin or was it Fabian?. He can't sing or surf. Howard can be the beach ball. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/boldblue.gif) while he reads my poem dedicated to him (see next post). Alison (with one L) can be whatever the hell she wants. Lisa can Lurk. Toast can get burned, Slits can be the asshole - wait - he already is :finger2: glstrojan - cow tipping - how 'bout cow chip throwing? I know I left a lot of my favorite people out, but I have brain fade. |

There is a man named Howard,
Who by any means is not a coward, In his whale, he stepped on the gas, Ah by god, he dirtied his ass. Into the corner it screamed, The ass end coming around to be seen, As the smoke from the tires disapated, He found he was no longer constipated. This mini monster I must sell, Earlier than I want it'll put me in hell, Suzi is just more my speed, Driving her I surely won't soil my seat. A hard choice indeed, To tame that mighty steed, Or sit back and relax, Driving Suzi to keep regular he'll need Exlax. Happy Now? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) I just couldn't contain myself. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bootyshake.gif) |

I can surf and I hold my own in the curves too. I dont know about singing, but I can give that a try. Maybe we should book a Kareoke bar for the event. That would suck a little.

I get away from the computer to take a quick ride to the beach in Moby, and you guys start again. Remember, I might be in charge of 2005 and you will all pay dearly.
A crusty old fart name Slits, Whose humor was really the shitz, He can’t drive too fasty, his jokes are all nasty, At least he knows girls with nice tits. Then macho man Scott takes exception, You’d think he can’t get an erection, He ain’t all that fast, be he didn’t come in last, So we’ll put him in charge of a section. Well, Toast's image doesnt appear, Why is she bummed out? I still have those parts for her here if she wants them. Just taking up space in my mess err garage. I am working on the car this weekend and should have the motor in and ready to go to the muffler shop next week. Once that is done I can fire it up and dial it in. I dont take offence to much. I can take a joke with the best of them.

fyi.....
re: Slits' post on the bottom of page 3 (5th from the bottom) I emailed the Calif Speedway: > We over at www.914world.com will be holding our annual event, the West Coast Classic, in southern california in 2005, and we are currently searching for venues where we could hold an Auto-x. I wanted information from the Ca Speedway on whether that would be possible to do? We have had some discussions with the group that puts on the California Festival of Speed event, to see whether we could, A: run with their 'track' group, or B: put on our own Auto-x. If you could forward any information to me, that a group needs to have in order to put on an event at the California Speedway, that would be Great! Thanks for your time. Ca Speedway response: Scott, Rachel forwarded your e-mail to me regarding your desires to run an auto cross here at California Speedway. Our large parking lot 12 hosts many auto cross events. The events are mostly operated by the SCCA. But if you have a group that would like to organize your own event, that would be great. The cost is $2,500.00 per day and an insurance policy with limits of $1,000,000.00 is required as well. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Best regards, Phil Tucker Director of Operations California Speedway (end) Sounds like the idea of hooking up with the Riverside/San Diego group for their Festival of Speed event sounds a whole lot better, yes? |

Scott, great work! Spoke to Willow and Buttonwillow re: buying insurance thru them. Both have a provision for this. As a 'non-entity' it's really tough to get event coverage. Since you've already corresponded with them, could you ask? Is it $2500 for AutoX or actual track rental?
