I'm just copying the same setup that I have on my current 1.8 L-Jet. The TTS is in a different location, under the intake manifold.

And about that cold start injector, I'm not sure it does much as I ran with it unconnected for a week and didn't even noticed. Maybe is just our sunny California (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Yeah, the TTS and the Cold Start Injector only function while the engine is cranking. Once you let go of the key, those two components are dead-weight. You shouldn't have a problem leaving both of them off in a hot climate. And they only work as a pair, so if you don't have one, you don't need either.

Valy,
I thought you'd changed your mind on building a 2056 and were going for a stroker motor. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)
Maybe I'm just late to the party.

Marty, I have a plan:
First I finish this 2056 and then build the stroker (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif)
I already have the core for that stroker but can't let my wife see 2 open engines in the garage...

Heads

Got my rebuilt heads back. Those are original 2.0L heads in very good condition.
They were flycut a bit to raise the compression to 8.4:1.
One is already on. The other one I'm preparing for the CHT sensor.

If you have not already, i would advise that you get those AA barrels heat treated. Theyre notorious for being very soft and im sure you dont want to tear down this baby prematurely! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Thermostat

Slow progress this weekend as I was busy driving (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

I got good used thermostat but everything looked like hell. Bracket was rusted all over.
I cleaned and repainted the thermostat bracket and wheel.

Hate to break it to you but that thermostat looks expanded (bad).

Don't worry, it works well. I tested it in hot water. No leaks.

Now I only need more time and motivation to finish that engine.

What precisely do you do to "heat treat" the barrels?

Hey Valy,
I am sneaking up on you. I finished machining the heads you sent me, and I am cutting the pushrods. 2056- it's going to be great.

Don't worry too much. I cut the push rods too long and found out only after I pressed in the ends. Fortunately I figured out how to shorten them without altering the ends and without taking them apart. So I am still moving. I hope this thread gets more pics soon.

I'm back in business!!
I measured the flywheel endplay and I need a total of ~0.89mm shims.
The shimms I have: 0.30mm (0.0118"), 0.34mm (0.0134"), 0.36mm (0.0142") total 1.00mm so I need a thinner shim.

1. Does anyone knows where to get it?
2. In the gasket set there are 2 o-rings that could go on the flywheel. One is for the oil pump. Which one is the flywheel one, thick or thin?

Thanks
