....for next year.
Them boys are thrashing around trying to "revitalize" the Prepared classes, F/P amongst them. Thus far, nothing is set in stone, but the latest is a change in their basic thinking. Rather than the present jumble of engine size to car, they are smiplifing it to engine size to weight. 2 valve motors would be .75 X displacement = minimum weight. A 914 with a 2.7L (that would be me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) ) would be 2050lbs minimum....no word on twin plugging. 4 valve motors would have a multiplier of .78. This is their second proprosal. The first one really stunk......you don't wanna know. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/barf.gif) |

we don't really get protested in vintage, but in groups like production, how do they check displacement?
Does a racer who is just there for a regional race potentially have to allow his motor to be opened up? What happens if you decline the inspection? dr |

IF you trophy at a National Tour event or the Nationals your car goes to the impound for a legality check. Dunno exactly what they do in there.

There are ways to measure the volumn of an engine. I know some of the circle treack guys use a device that fills the chamber/cylinder with air, then that volumn of air is measured.
