I have replaced the front struts and added bump steer spacers to the front of my recently acquired 914/6 conversion. I have noticed now when I turn the steering wheel with the wheels off the ground that the rack binds in certain positions as I turn.Do I need to make an adjustment to compensate for the spacers and if so is this done on the steering knuckles under the dash or do I need to remove the fuel tank?

Loosen the bolts on the knuckles. When you moved the rack up with the spacers.. it put the u joints in bind. You need to relieve the "bind". There is enough slop in the u joints to collapse them a little.
