Not the 914 but for those with non original 6s, am replacing the CIS with EFI and Triumph triples ITBs run by Megasquirt on my 3.0. Shouldn’t increase the horses but provide much better throttle response and flatter torque up to red line. Probably will squeeze a couple extra MPG if I can keep my foot out of it, but what’s the fun in that? Work being done by X-Faktory Mt Vernon, Wa.
If it works as well as anticipated, then will do the same for the teener. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ib7iDU5Hp98...eature=youtu.be |

Hey Bob...I believe that was Marc's car that you saw.
Does this look familiar? Very nice car, exceptional engineering and workmanship. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mxh5urJD3j0 Oscar First I picked up my wheels- Factory Fuchs 15” 7s, 8s, and one 6” spare for space saver from Rick at http://www.porschewheelservices.com/ $990. Then went to an art show that I was in at the Santa Monica airport and I saw a 914-EV at Whole Foods parking lot near there. Bob B |

Looks and sounds great. |

See a 944 strip a 944 I always say (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Another one made it's way into the pic-a-part. Walked away with another set of 15x7 cookies, pair of 21mm spacers, and 10 66mm lugs.
(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/farm5.staticflickr.com-431-1517453610.1.jpg) Also bumped into a 300zx turbo, and since all this combo gauge talk has gotten me hot and bothered I grabbed these too. I'm thinking I can use the guts and make a triple combo gauge of pertinent info. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/farm5.staticflickr.com-431-1517453611.2.jpg) |

Drove Kugel for the first time since before Christmas. After a month of not driving a 914 I am reminded how well they handle. Pure pleasure! Then back to work. When I installed the psg seat in Rote I thought I had an alignment problem when compared to the drivers side. I pulled the seat and the rails it rides upon intent upon finding the misalignment. I loosened different allen bolts hoping to discover where the misalignment was and eventually discovered the culprit was a build up of of some substance which was very sticky. After thoroughly cleaning the seat tracks and the matching rails the sliding mechanism was now slicker than greased Owl Shit. I believe this seat sat undisturbed and in a fixed position for years and that sticky substance was old grease which was never disturbed and became a sticky sludge over the years. The psg seat now slid so easily I was compelled to do the drivers seat, which was fine until this moment. One hours labor and well worth it! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Didn't like the quotes I am getting for my heads to put SS valves in them, so I figured I'd do some research and just do them myself.
$100 for this Snap-On valve resurfacer, it is cleaning up really nice so far, it was only a few miles away from the house which was nice. I know once done with it I have a co-worker that would buy it from me. Now to find a deal on the tools to do the valve seats. |

I looked in the window and the front. Very clean car! Bob B |

Had a by myself play day at MiddleMotors. Started with loading up more finishing supplies into my storage bins. Labeled with vendor info for refilling. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
Now with both Doug and Matt's cars are off to paint. I now had enough floor space to lay out all the parts Chris (Tygaboy) brought me last fall. I think I'm going need some more totes. Looks like the plating bucket is getting filled up and ready for my next trip. |

Getting the parts for:
Do-it-yourself zinc, Cad plate and Blue Anodizing for the aluminum for my V8 front sway bar. Still need the battery acid and 2 d batteries for my set up. Waiting for Amazon to ring my door bell. Bob B (IMG:style_emoticons/default/stirthepot.gif) |

Will do,
The battery acid and the D-cells came today and I am ready to rock and roll. Will post. Got to love UTube. Plus if a person is the adventurous, inventive type and with a little knowledge you are willing to try it. This is the difference in people. Some just sit on the sidelines. Others jump in. Bob B |

Work on the 914s? ... no such luck, other priorities took place.
Spent some time degreasing and blasting some [912] brake backing plates Tuesday night. I had a limited time with the cabinet, so I didn't finish all of the pieces, will get those done next Tuesday. Then washed, dried and primed them on Wednesday (freshly blasted steel has a nasty habit of surface rusting fairly quickly near the ocean) ... washed, dried and hit them with semi-gloss today. Also, still working on the dang'd Ghia's seating issue. I picked up a driver's side track assembly when I was in AZ in December, waiting on the passenger side to show up soon. Blasted, this one on Tuesday too ... washed, dried and primed on Wednesday - will hit this with semi-gloss later in the day as well. It will need a little more trimming, and then it can get bolted to the [PO's] fiberglass floor pan with some additional reinforcement under the car. There's light at the end of the funnel (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) |
