Picked up a rusty old 9146 from Michigan. It has been off the road for several years...

Did some rust repair on the fenders, finished up the welding and we're about to finish the metal work on it. At this stage, it came out really good. like I said, we have some more metal / body work to do on it to make it 100% but, I like where we're at.
There's a couple of very small spots that we're going to be doing some lead work on as well. If anyone is interested, there's pics on my restoration site / blog. http://www.2002and914.com/?p=492 Inching ever closer to getting her back on the road. |

Changing out the jack points on Mark's Reno Red car.
Pete from RD hooked me up with some outer skins from #331. Cut out the jack point section with the plasma cutter. I'll use one of them to create a perfect pattern that I'll have lazer cut. |

One of my friends has access to a large format scanner/printer and made me up some poster size wiring diagrams. All years and USA from Jeff Bowlsby's great info website.
http://bowlsby.net/914/WiringHarnesses/ I think I'll mount them on some adhesive foam board from U-Line. I also have 3 sets of ledger size coming that I can put into 3 ring binders. |

Speaking of driving, Mike and his dog Zuess stopped by for a few minutes.
Sounds like Mike's been driving his car everyday since it left. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) |

Finished up Mark's left jack point on the Reno Red car.
I forgot how tough it is to weld that top lip. I think I'm going to teach myself how to set up the panel spotter. Hopefully I'll have enough room for my head and hands. Right side is ready for the jack tube. I need Matt or Mark to bring me the right rocker cover so I can line up the threshold rivet holes. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |
