Picked up my wheels at the powder coating shop. They turned out great!

I heard the lugs will loosen when you drive if you don't scuff up the area around the holes where they make contact.

Swapped out the Boxster alloys for some 15 x 6 Fuchs Repros with new lug nuts. Also getting to the interior and cleaning it up to see what it will need. Took out the old alternator on the 2.7 cooling fan assembly and will be stipping it for repaint.

Finally got around to finishing the upholstery on my drivers seat. I used the kit from 914 Rubber.

This project was a very daunting task for me. Overall, it came out nice. I ended up with a few wrinkles on one side of the headrest though (last pic). I blame my inexperience, not the upholstery kit from 914 Rubber.

Try using a hair dryer to mellow out the wrinkles

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) Or a steamer. Looks good, Bob, but that task IS a real pain. I had my wife help me do it a couple of years ago. She's done some fairly big reupholster projects, and this one really pissed her off. All the clips and pieces on the seat hardware were old and brittle, which didn't help. Anyway, I knew not to ask her for help for a few weeks after that project... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

Alignment time after new tires. Had to put one 3mm shim in left rear.
Attached a copy of the printout
Got a 4 wheel alignment at Jcs Alignment in Huntington Beach for $89.00; others using the same equipment wanted $180 - $250
The only other shop with a reasonable price was Discount Tire.$89.00

Dropped the engine/trans yesterday for the first time out of my own 914. On the menu: good ole degreasing of motor transmission and engine bay, install ss fuel lines, new clutch, side shift conversion, attend to leaky valve covers, install dual carbs.

Jim,
what tire brand and size did you go with? and did you align the rears to the stock alignment, such as camber?
