Maybe it’s a 914 Karman thing, but I love Karman Ghias. That would of been a no brainer trade for me. Congrats!! If I decide to keep the '70 Ghia, I have a spare rebuilt 1720cc type 616 motor I can toss in there (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)(IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) |

Actually, I had my eye on this car on the Samba. He changed his ad the other day to a lower price and added "or trade?' to it. I messaged him and described my '55 bug, he said he was interested. We met this morning, and in a no money deal, signed papers over to each other and drove off in each other's car(s). Weird, straight up trade. This is an extremely dry car from Prescott, Arizona and I got all of it's history too. It is just a lovely car, much better and peppier on the road than the bug. My poor 914 sits there. (I do drive it.) I would have done that trade any day. I don't care for bugs since all my friends parents seemed to have one when I was growing up and I remember being stuffed in the back seat on hot days. My wife had a Ghia for her first car so she totally gets my 914 thing. Hers was orange but she gave it to her brother and he painted it blue with spray cans. My wife knew how to pop the clutch to start the car. I knew she was the one for me. |

Got it shipped from Puerto Rico to our new home in Lenoir, NC. Was completely covered in salt and gave her a good wash. Now to figure out how to register it here! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif) Welcome to the Mainland - Hope things are going well in the new home and location! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) Thanks!!!!! |

My first hot rod was a Ghia. A '64 that I put 356 Super 90 in. Built the car in '70. Somehow I just can't stop playing with them. Parked Carerror by the lake today, working in her garage space. Need to have an event here. Yes you should! Where are you now in Florida? Came down from SC to seminar in Orlando this weekend . |

Installed transmission into the 914. Your kicking ass, Mueller. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) thanks, I was talking to another member a few days ago and he commented about how he thinks I've done more work in the last couple of weeks than I have in the last few years . I came to realize I've wasted too much time and I got to get stuff done now instead of putting it off. I guess a life changing health scare will do that do you! |

Installed the fuel filter and pump into the front trunk so filter changes might be easier. Next will be to cover the new trunk floor board with Perlon and cover the vertical wall

Almost tempted to buy the car back from Bill ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) |
