Nice. What gauge are you connecting it to? Not quite sure. VDO cockpit or the one that Dr. 914 sells or maybe have NHW speedo build one to look stock(ish). Any suggestions? No - was hoping you could tell me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) ... I just happen to have a couple of spare 911 pressure senders and like how you did your set up. I have a couple options. I remember getting a triple gauge unit from Kapt Kaos a decade or so ago ... will have to look for it to see if it indeed has a pressure gauge. If so, it will need some LED strip lighting to match the gauges that Timothy ( @timothy_nd28 ) did up for our '71's original dash gauges. The car didn't originally come with a center console, but I do have one, so another option would be to install a small pressure gauge (if I know which gauge to get) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) I need to fish an additional wire from the engine bay to the dash for an oil temperature gauge too. The car didn't come with a temp sender either, but I have a Jonsey taco plate and VDO sender earmarked for it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Let me know which route you take (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif) https://autoplicity.com/82527-vdo-gauges-vd...BCABEgJhZ_D_BwE https://autoplicity.com/259409-vdo-gauges-3...e-sending-units This gauge is about 8mm smaller in diameter than the original console gauges, but it's got a similar appearance. I'm leaning towards it especially since I'm not putting it in a center console. Unless someone messed with it you should be able to find the wire for oil temp. starting with a connection down around the passenger side of the engine shelf and terminating at one of a trio of plastic covered spade connectors in the center tunnel right next to the shift lever. All wiring harnesses had the wires for center consoles, they just didn't connect to anything. |

Im sure people went home wondering about the "RS" and did some research to see if there is one. Or they told their buddy that they saw an RS model, thus starting more rumors. Pete |

I'll look for it all the next time I'm in there. |

Finished putting together most of the car. Have just a few areas left, but they are the ones I'm most nervous about - the sail panel vinyl and windshield. Got everything ready to go, just need a little courage (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer3.gif) Will post pics once it's all done.
Edit: Well that was easy! @hansjan - PM me your address and I’ll send you the butyl primer. Didn’t use much at all. We might be able to pass this can around to a bunch of folks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) I fixed the corner trim piece after seeing this pic (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

Surprised to see antenna hole at passenger side. I eliminated mine, but it was on the drivers side. Will send my address through PM. Please advise PayPal email address. When done I will make the remainder of primer available on this site. |

Yeah I've seen a few on the passenger side but most seem to be on the drivers side. I guess it was whatever the dealer felt like doing (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sawzall-smiley.gif) |

NARB, trying to see if I can get the phone to post pics correctly. I'll have to find another way to do this. It isn't you, Joe. Something with this site and how it see's my iPhone pic's.. Just click on the picture and it rights itself. Does this to me also and yes, I know the correct position to hold my Phone when taking pic's. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |

I finished the ceiling. Now I have to clean up the shop and get Carerror and the NARB into here to get some real mechanical work done. Carerror has been living on the back porch for 5 months. Looks a little racy to me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif)(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads/post-19611-1541764913_thumb.jpg) The buggy is going in the trailer and the NARB ( Superbeetle) is coming in here. rac·y /ˈrāsē/ adjective: racy; comparative adjective: racier; superlative adjective: raciest (of speech, writing, or behavior) lively, entertaining, and typically mildly titillating sexually. Actually looks great, Joe ... matches the tile floor in my spare bathroom. Are you going to pour a driveway at some point? |
