That reminds me I have to do that on one of my brackets on the '71 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
Gonna let someone else do it- tried my hand at welding when I was restoring my 356 cab- quickly found out I'd better stick to my day job. |

welded cracked engine lid bracket with flux core, my first time welding Well there ya go. The welder paid for itself. Just remember that the metal should be really clean for flux core welds. Turn your wire speed down just a bit or the temp up a bit and you'll get better burn in and your welds will lay a little flatter. Keep it up. Practice makes perfect. Amps is achieved through wire speed with the correct potential setting with the voltage tap.. |

While waiting on the rotisserie for my 75’ I decided to remove the bumpers and go full on home chrome on these here bumpers on the 73’. Couple rounds of bondo, 220 grit and some tender loving care to smooth em out then hit them with etching primer and krylon chrome and clear coat. Fun project and impressed with the results. Why the hell not.

Thanks Michael...one more....its been a 2 year restoration..every single nut and bolt...but it’s been a blast. Have a few more small things left. Your car is beautiful and glad you are having fun with it! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) My resto is frustrating AF because the learning curve is so steep. Worked on brakes. New front rotors, flushed and bled fluid. Good hard pedal. Went out to bed the rotors but I got interrupted. Then I heard the right bearing. Quickly headed back. I think I got the clamping nut on too tight. Will fix that asap. Also adjusted parking brake per Eric Shea's excellent instructions. It's a little better but needs more attention.
