Washed my 74 project that is parked at my daughter’s place and since I helped them cleaned their driveway this morning for my 2 yr. old grandson’s bday celebration. What are your plans for this project? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif) |

Questions: 1. Are early air boxes different than late ones? 2. Are they interchangeable? The reason I ask, I purchased one of 914 Rubber's inlet screens for my '71 (along with a new seal kit). Early air boxes didn't have a screen, but I don't know if I can just install the screen in the early box, or if need to get a late box (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) |

Didnt think it would polish up quite so much. Kind of a newbie still and dont know the answers to your questions. Maybe others can chime in. |

Took the old seats out of the car [for sale dirt cheap, see classifieds (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ]
The passenger side rail came unbolted with ease. The drivers side was a pain. I cleaned the rails and removed rock hard grease with a screwdriver and Goof Off. Recommendations for grease when I put the rails on my new seats? |

Replaced my dead 3 port fuel pump with a new Bosch 2 port pump today. Cars starts on a flick of the key now. That's the good news. The bad news is I now have 2 leaky fuel injectors instead of just the one I had before the pump went out. Two steps forward, one step back

What's the pressure with the new pump?
Did you run a bypass and connect to the return line back to the tank (like the 3-port did). |

Recommendations for grease when I put the rails on my new seats? @Mueller Just had this conversation with @SocalAndy you want to stay away from white lithium grease as it heats ups, thins and makes a mess. The suggestion is to go with a small amount of wheel bearing grease that won't thin. |

Just curious - how would lithium grease heat up on seat tracks? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

What's the pressure with the new pump? Did you run a bypass and connect to the return line back to the tank (like the 3-port did). I used the Bosch 69133 pump that most people here recommend. I eliminated the Y in the original return line and connected those two lines together |

Made good on a commitment to the previous owner (yesterday, actually). I purchased this car 8 years ago, drove it for a few years, then dove into a full-on restoration. Promised the PO that I would bring it by to show him when completed.
Resto took over 6 years end to end, due to these things always taking longer and being more expensive than expected, plus a couple of unanticipated hang-ups along the way. Meanwhile gent I purchased the car from developed Parkinson's and I hate to say it, but I was seriously concerned it would become a race between when the car was completed and if he would be able to see the end result. Suffice to say he was very happy to see the car again and I was very happy he got to see it. Sadly, he's no longer in a position to go for a ride, let alone take the wheel. Attached thumbnail(s) |

Well done for honoring your commitment to the previous owner. I bet he'll remember that despite his illness.
