I usually take my son (now 12) on drives in the 914, been doing so since he was about 5. He loves it.

My daughter (10), on the other hand, has been less comfortable riding in it.

Sunday, she agreed to go for a ride as long as I "don't go too fast" and "don't be too loud". We had a really nice ride. By the time we were on our way back home, she was encouraging me to go faster.

Mission accomplished.

Good on you. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cheer.gif)

I remember the incidence of another good member here - who's daughter was embarrassed to be seen in 'dad's 914', albeit a stunning '6' conversion that any one of us would give their eye teeth to have. She told him "it's an old car" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/screwy.gif)

I don't remember if he told her that she could start walking to and from school or not (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Still working out the bugs, but went for a five mile drive and got home safely (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Has a warm start issue... feels like a fuel problem, and the ashtray mount is not aligned... almost finished:)

Yeah, but yellow tire paint would have made it go even faster (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Nothing on my 914, but I stopped in at Callas Rennsport and chatted with Andy ( @socalandy ) for a little while prior to visiting my spine doctor, who's office is right next door.

Saw all kinds of P-cars there, including a few 914s (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif)

A lot. Welded original fog light brackets onto my bumper last night & installed the almost new NOS fog lights I got from DrPhil; installed H3-LED's and will use lights as DRL's.

Received new VR #2, a SS one - no change, still not charging. Installed new #6 Cu. ground wire from alternator frame to battery/chassis ground. No change. Alternator produces 16.8 - 17v when D+ & DF are jumped, so alternator is good. All grounds tested and proven good.

Still trying to trouble-shoot......I only get the hard ones.....

That's only the 2nd. time I've heard of a 2.0L crank breaking. I think Brant had that happen several or more years ago (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

That would decisively be "two"...

Took my 12 year old to school in it for the first time.

Painted the side long covers and the rear valance.
Plastidipped the bumper tops.

Picked my 12 year old up from school in it.
Found a new issue. The starter did not want to disengage when the engine fired.
Time to trouble shoot that and the issues causing it to fail emissions.
