Finished up with Octeenerfest last weekend we are now embarking on a ferry ride to South Bass Island to partake in the Vintage Car Races at Put In Bay.
I don't race but volunteer, now for the 5th year in a row. Great Fun. Wife and I do get to run the track both the new airport facility and also the "old" circuit thru the streets of PIB complete with hay bales at the corners. A yearly event we both enjoy. |

"Fixed" my broken clutch tube and went for a drive. Seems to be holding up just fine.

Finished pulling my smog off my 2.0 including pump & good t-bracket & pulley - all for sale now - will have to figure out how to block the smog-ports so I can provide the system complete including brackets & hardware.

"Fixed" my broken clutch tube and went for a drive. Seems to be holding up just fine. That's how a PO did the front tube repair in the 'BB'. Unfortunately it broke in other places during my custodianship ... so I did the hydraulic conversion. Planning on doing the same conversion on HOWARD, even though the clutch tube is perfectly intact at the moment.(IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) |

Spent the last few days doing some much needed maintenance. I've been away from the car focusing on career stuff for the last few years and neglected the 914.
I lit a fire under my butt the other day, and drained the fuel, changed the oil, cleaned the carbs, and finally installed the Tangerine linkage I've had sitting around. After synching the carbs it runs better than I think it ever has on the carbs. The idle is super smooth. I'm sure it could be better, but it's pretty darn good for now. Car fired on the second crank, which was nice. |

Tying to figure out why my new ATE master cylinder is leaking. The only place I see brake fluid is circled in the picture. No fluid found around the upper grommets or any of the lines or at the firewall where the pedal rod goes through. Although it was already plenty tight, I tightened the circled cap a bit more. Maybe it wasn't machined perfectly, or there is some paint within the fitting not allowing a good seal? Ugh. Fingers crossed that it stops the leak.

Ordered the M10 x 1.0 x 50mm allan head bolts (bless you Amazon/Ebay, they are winging themselves here all by theirselves) Any of these work themselves out? Did Loctite or JBWeld fail eventually?

Pulled the car out and hosed her off. Ready for the 914 meet at the Atlanta Porsche center in the morning. That is a great looking car! I second that (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_bump.gif) |
