Good news is, it only took me a little under two hours to do and I didn't break anything. Bad news is family doesn't leave town until July 14th, so turbo tie rods, steering coupler and braided brake lines won't go in for awhile. My teener is out of commission.

Found a nice rusty section forward of the passenger footwell on the -6, a horn that'd been moved to the driver side wheel well where both wires had subsequently broken loose, and found two clipped/loose wires coming through the firewall into the engine bay...

On the positive front, found that a 2x4 across the front a-arm mounts works well to raise the front of the car, and jacking up via the transmission didn't seem to do any harm (placed 4x4x2" block almost directly under differential housing).

a few hours of welding and my car wont fold in half any more (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) got the driver side inner all done and started on the outer its almost ready to weld in. I also welded a reinforcment piece onto the inner one up front so that it actually does something. Ill post pics of that eventually

Finally had a day to work on the teener, stripped the paint on rear trunk, driver fender and door. Did a little on the rear sail and 1/4 panel but it was getting a little late. Car is in fairy good shape expect rain channels under the front hood.

Anyone know how to take the sail trim off having issue with the lower ones? use to new cars with plastic pull pins can't figure these ones out. Also any tricks for the windshield trim as well.

Ordered new tires all around in 195/50- 15 I got the latest sport tires from Bridgestone ( POTENZA RE-11A), these tires are still new in Japan and have them on order, they should be here in one week or two or so and my car should be riding super sweet...I can't wait

I've had a couple sets of the regular RE-11s, and they've been great. Nothing like new tires to transform a car!

Had family over to celebrate the 4th, as well as my wife's and nephew's birthdays (IMG:style_emoticons/default/jsharp.gif)

I needed to devise a method to keep the winch cable from digging into the rear threshold when pulling a car up the ramp of the new trailer.

I picked up a 2" dia. pulley from the local hardware store, rooted around and found bushings, spacers, a 1/2" bolt, nuts and a couple of unistrut angle brackets in my stash bucket, and constructed a guide device (sheave) that I'll mount to the floor at the threshold. The cable will 'ride' in the pulley groove until the car is high enough on the ramp to lift itself out of the pulley and continue winching unabated (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mueba.gif)

Still need to trim a little off the top of the brackets (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sawzall-smiley.gif)

Sat in it for the first time. On my brand new floorpans! Then I welded in the seat supports, hinges, test fit a seat and sat in it again.

There is a nut securing the trim under the fender, jack up the car, (or take the back wheel off) and look up, you will see iit, 8mm I beleive.

Got her to pass NYS Inspection-

First time for this car since 1989. Bought as a rust bucket in the late 90's and have had an on again off again restoration since then. Cruising up the road with the targa off and knowing it was street legal made all the work worth it.
