Today after long deliberation and some inspiration from some souls here I have decided on a new name for my A/X weapon. One of the weapons we (as teeners) have is intimidation. 911 owners do not like my car. They usually don't fear 914's until the car has a really good driver. I think the thing they fear is the weight. AR 14 weighs in at 1609 and is street legal. Turn signals, brake lights you know the hole thing. She has more than 10 pounds wire in her. Striping her down and adding aero is another hole world to them and me for that matter. So in another thread I mentioned that the car has an intimidation factor and Mark mentioned that it was an 914 AR. Well I kinda liked it and I will have to go back to see just how it occurred so I don't lie about Mark. Thanks buddy.

A "PO" installed black trim along the headlight area of the hood which, upon removal, left a bunch of gooey residue (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)
So I used some "Goof Off"... And got the majority of it off after applying some elbow grease, fingernail scraping, and finished up with some Purple Power. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) |

Sunday, made a quick picnic, with a beer and a glass of wine. Grabbed my girl and got our social distance on. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)
I've driven past this spot a bunch of times but always a crowd so I never stopped. You can almost see Mt. St. Helens in the background. ( I need a real camera) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) that a good idea, are you going to change colors or stay with white? I almost did that before painting my car and sometime I wish I had, from durability and driver perspective that is, and it looks great if done correctly. Lots of colors to choose from, but maybe a matte white? have you done any research on the 3M colors etc. |

Still need to gather all the high res images for the real thing. Some will love it... some will hate it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) |

Beautiful sunny day in the low 80s so I decided to take a run up on The Dragon (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)
Loaded my 5yo grandson in the car and we headed out. First stop... fill up with fuel at the corner gas station. Finished that and got a phone call. So I pulled away from the pumps to the end of the parking area and took the call. Hung up and putting the phone away when... BUMP (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) I look to the right rear to see a guy in a Chrysler 300 had backed into me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif) Damage isn't all that bad but it just irritates me to no end (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) My wife came by to get my grandson while I waited for the law to show up. I did make it to The Dragon... good drive along Foothills Pky and The Dragon and then back home. Oh... while headed home, at the end of Foothills Pky, car stalls. Acts like it is out of gas. I check the pump and, though it is running, no fuel due to air (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) Of course, I had NO tools with me but a friendly guy in a 90s Honda Civic HB stopped and assisted. I pulled the pump from its mount in front of the tank (custom mount) and pulled it forward to allow it to drop thus letting fuel flow once again. Got the engine started and drove home. tested my MPS for leak- it failed , so i had one rebuild kit left so i opened this up and found a torn diaphragm, it’s now replaced with an new one, and its holding vacuum, car idles perfectly but is rich in part and full load so i will be adjusting it tomorrow, but my bucking and hesitation is gone!
this MPS was rebuilt and calibrated by Tangerine Racing 3 years ago while the car was up there. for some repairs. i probably have under 5,000 miles on the car since then, so i am surprised that this happened so soon. I do have the decal valve installer so it should not have gone bad so soon. maybe Chris Foley will chime in , or other MPS experts. i am glad i have one that will work good enough while i send one in to Jeff B for a professional rebuild and calibration. |

Long list of little things done today, but best was a great drive with the engine running pretty well.
Receiving a "new" 050 dizzy next week from Brant and think it will help me get everything dialed in better than ever. Never cease to enjoy this car in the countless twisties where I live and really look forward to the day when I get sway bars put in....... Phil - glad to hear you are keeping that gold beauty in top running shape. Who knows? Someday I may put the '76 D-jet system I have back on the engine....... GN |

Worked on mounting the master cylinder, brake lines, suspension ties, sway bar.. Tried to feed the trottle cable through the tunnel.. Looks like an obstruction.. Ugh.. Don't know what to do about that yet.
