Got her to pass NYS Inspection- First time for this car since 1989. Bought as a rust bucket in the late 90's and have had an on again off again restoration since then. Cruising up the road with the targa off and knowing it was street legal made all the work worth it. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/inlinethumb14.webshots.com-8672-1341492436.1.jpg) Nice looking car. Congrats! |

Had a drive today with my daughter on one of the best days Seattle has seen this year. Took a new road with some twisties and after, I looked at her and asked "you okay?" She could barely hold back the smile and said "FUN".... Dad/Daughter bonding via 3rd gear (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif)

Checking calander... yep dropped it off early April, I know the engine is out an partially disassembled, last I heard the heads aren't done and the crank and rods are still at the machine shop. Still working on my son's 914 - but making progress. Engine nearly together - sans alternator due to hosed mounting bracket.

Drove it for 60 miles at close to 90 mph. Found a red one on 280 & drove along with him for awhile. Filled it full of gas. Checked the oil.

Anyone know how to take the sail trim off having issue with the lower ones? use to new cars with plastic pull pins can't figure these ones out. Also any tricks for the windshield trim as well. There is a nut securing the trim under the fender, jack up the car, (or take the back wheel off) and look up, you will see iit, 8mm I beleive. Sweet thanks, wonder if anyone would see or answer this Cheers, Marlon |

Nephew Jeremy and I started installing 1" insulation in the walls of the 914's trailer/toy box (what a difference!) ... then we'll do the ceiling with 1,1/2" and finish up with luan paneling.
4 new 24x15" windows were delivered on Friday, hoping to get those installed next week too. Feeling a little queasy about cutting the openings though (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sawzall-smiley.gif) Kapt Kaos is stopping by later today, we'll try out the LM-2 A/F on his car |

Drove it for about 3 hours this morning. Nothing to exciting there as most was freeway. I am taking a nice 2 1/2 hour drive tonight to the coast & back. It is an excellent road with plenty of twisties (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)
