We’ve had two cats (21 and 22), both were stray kitten’s... after feeding them a bowl of milk and tuna, they never leave (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Cats are kinda like that. You don't adopt them. They just show up one day and suddenly you are a cat owner. You don't get a choice.

Mark stopped by in his new ride today.

AWESOME!!!

Great looking car. The pics simply don't do it justice. And that motor... it's wonderful!

Quite a motivator to get mine going.

Oscar was kind enough to let me drive that car for WCR. It's awesome. Jake Raby builds the engines that Porsche should have. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

Began straightening a warped door panel and repaired drivers door storage box. The lower 3 screws had pulled thru the cardboard so I added some aluminum reinforcement shims. Needed to flatten out those areas before applying the metal strips. I used a small steamer a seam pliers to do this. On the door panel I used clamps, cinder blocks, boards and the little steamer against a flat surface. I'll need to strengthen the cardboard with some fiberglass epoxy once it is dry or it will just do it again.

So much of the floor, tunnel, and the rear bulkhead had been rotted away that since I was going water cooled, I opted for some different approaches to my repairs. We see lots of great restorations and some incredibly inventive custom work on these pages and threads that are worthy of (IMG:style_emoticons/default/first.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/first.gif) .... mine is more of a Roadkill Garage edition. Hopefully more like the Millennium Falcon - It may not look like much Kid, but she's got it where it counts... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Attached ImageAttached Image

Whatever it takes Mike. Get'er done. No one will be the wiser when completed. As a matter of fact, no one will pay any attention once they realized it's been converted to a water pumper. In a similar vein, lower bulkhead and floor repair just completed.
Before and after - bulkhead panel made from scratch, floor repair panel from Restoration Design...

More done lately but not all will be in this reply.
Got my double rapped wheel back on after a bit of leather recoloring and sorting the hockey puck.
Attached Image
Mounted spare wheel @ the rear only cause I like the extra room in the frunk and have to weld a patch over the OP's attempt to fit a front oil cooler (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) ,unsure about adding extra weight over the rear wheels (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) .
Attached Image
Added a second fuel filter in the engine space and retimed the engine as wrong mark on front pulley by PO honestly have no idea why I didn't pick it up before as I thought my dizzy was a tooth out...fail,new found power (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) .
Gave the A6 Audi some attention with new Varta battery and coolant change which isn't a routine service item as I found out from the service schedule "lifetime coolant" what BS.

Love that wheel with the hockey puck...

Continued some work on the '73 2.0 engine while waiting for the transaxle- adjusted valves (pretty easy when it's on an engine stand (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) )

Put in the new 123 distributor.

We went to the bank and deposited the check from the insurance company, and got the down payment for the body shop. We are going to the body shop tomorrow to swap wheels on Betty's 914 so the good ones don't get messed up doing paint work.

We are finally moving in the direction of getting it repaired. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cheer.gif)

Visited the Delphi car at the body shop getting the second round of post renovation tweaks. I think this will be the last of the shakedown tasks, can’t find anything else to fix (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I painted my car, it was the first time i had done so.

This year i've noticed cracks appearing accross the car in various places. Today i had a guy who works in a major body shop come and take a look at it.

It seems i've put the paint on too thick. I will need to rub it back and just put the correct amount on. Oh well.

Today I brought my Alpine radio back to life. It came with the car when I bought it 5 years ago but it didn't work at all. It was stonedead. So I took it to the radioshop but they said they couldn't repair it. Last week I felt I had to give it a try and I took it apart but It still didn't work. So today I had a look on Youtube and tried again. Took it apart completely , used a lot of contact spray , a toothbrush and a Q-tip and slowly it came back to life. And it plays really well actually. It's an Alpine 7510. Does anyone know what year it could be from? I couldn't find any information on the internet. Attached Image
