Welded in the new seat hinges and played with the seat placement so I could get and idea for what's comfortable before I welded in the other supports I have.

Brake reservoir was chipping away. Could not bring myself to paying 90-130 for a factory one. So I remembered our cars are Porsche/ VW and this fine specimen from bugs was only 10 bucks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif)

While your in there...
Scratches on the Rear trunk have been bothering me for a year and since I am unemployed at the moment (Company virus shut down). Decided to buff it out. Wet sanding and buffing made it look worse Remove the lid and sand down the coat and re-sprayed Then the rest of the car looked dull and sad Clay bar, polish, wax, buff it out, shine the chrome and wheels Etc. etc. 2 weeks later and finally finished Now for some good weather and Road Trip ! I had some time today, so I removed the boomerang and the rear sway bar, ...also cleaned up the transaxle a little bit ....lots more grease/gear oil to remove, but at least now I can read the # on the back of the transmission.
got about halfway done with sanding both the hangar and the sway bar, and put the droplinks in vinegar to soak overnight. I think I might just clearcoat the hangar.....I kind of like it in its raw state.... |

Ordered a couple oil filters, the plastic plug for the driver's side engine tin, and ordered the Blackstone Oil kit to check the oil on the first change.

Bought these beautiful bumpers from a local S Cal member. Gotta get all the other parts now: tops, grills, lights, rtc dont forget the cover plates for where the bumper shocks stick thru , and also in the rear, there is a hole in thebumper for where the tow hook can screw into but our late cars had it in the steel bumper and the early cars had theirs welded onto thebody so if you want that it will have to be added.--- good luck with your latest project- however if you do this , i dont think there is an original copper metallic that still has the BUB's and is still original color too. Yours, mine and Brad Mayuer of 914LTD all are back dated bumpers...... |

My speedo was a little wonky. I have an early 911 electronic speedo that Palo Alto Speedo converted to look like my original speedo, but with an extra odometer digit so it will not roll over at 99,999. Because of that, we have no speedo cable running through the tunnel. Also, we needed to add a GPS signal sender as well as a unit to calibrate the signal to the speedo. Consequently the speedo was not reading correctly some of the time, mostly the first 15 minutes when driving. Then it was dead on accurate after that. Weird!
We decided to send the speedo back to PAS to verify it was not the actual speedo. Hartmut at Palo Alto Speedo was an absolute peach to work with. He got the speedo back and immediately bench tested it and it was perfect. He returned it and back in the car it went. Then Bob (Justice League Bob, not my brother Bob) had a lengthy discussion with Dakota Digital where we got the two units and ultimately we determined we had everything hooked up correctly. The one thing Bob wanted to try was to disconnect the one wire we had going from the calibration box to the back of the speedo. Well we hooked it all back up, sans that wire, and the speedo is now 100% perfect. I am very happy as that was a problem that had us scratching our heads. Time for a (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif) |

Made some nice progress last weekend, sprayed undercoat and painted the front fenders... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)
I used Dinitrol Pyrmohyd 448 for the undercoat... A bit expensive but I like it. Then painted with 2K laquer Oh, also deleted the side markers... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

Had all the wiring redone on my combo gauge. Everything works even the emergency brake warning light that has never worked since I’ve owned the car. 26 years (shameful).
