Yesterday I washed the whole engine bay down with soap and water(engine out) and then used a rag to take all the old grease off the wiring. I installed two new engine bay seals nd then set to work preparing my engine for the re-install. All thats left now is to put the engine back in today, and hook up all the vaccuum hoses! Nice transformation (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Yikes! What a bummer. I hope all damage was limited to the hood. There plenty to be had. Especially on the west coast.
I live in a resort town. On weekends, I usually don't drive my teener because of all the rubber-neckers looking around. Too dangerous. Went to a PCA event this morning! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) Then on the way home, a very nice elderly man backed into the front of my car! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) I added AIR HORNS to my "things to do list" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

I just put my whole rotating assembly in boxes to ship to the machinist tomorrow for balancing.
Next week is assemble the short block & measure my deck height, then heads off to CA for porting & CR adjust! Engine tins all painted and cured for months. A few weeks to full engine assembly! |

Well, we spent a long arduous day tuning IDF 40s. A bright shinning sun, coupled with a fresh Pacific Ocean breeze, made it a wonderful day for the task. Doug got Joe's car dialed in really good (note grin) Thanks for all your help Doug (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) Doug, thanks again. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif) Had to run into the office this morning. Took the 914 for the first time in months. I had forgotten how much I love driving this car. Mark - we will get you squared away. what if we put on some sort of carb tuning clinic? think people would go? |

I continue to develope my "under-car-frame-with-casters" so I can move my car around the garage. It will fit under the engine bar and lift the rear tires off the ground about three inches. Front tires will remain on the ground. Rolling and turning the car with four slicks on the ground is a PITA.
It will sorta be like what they use at LeMans when they jack up the car in the pits, slid the the caster wheels under it, turn it 90 degrees and push it in the garage stall. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) |

QUOTE what size engine? A 2.0L mostly stock with a Race cam & KB pistons. Headers & MSD. Plan on having the heads ported & CR ~10:1. Race gas only. I would have gone to 44 IDFs, but we run almost exclusively High altitude (>5000 ft.) Stu |

Added Helogen fluid to the light bulbs, and more flex to the flux capacitor...
Actually didn't do anything! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) but bought more sand paper and since it was so hot played in the sprinkler with my son instead... Actually has been hot up here in Vancouver and sanding 6 layers of paint and primer isn't that fun while sweating your (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bootyshake.gif) off! |

I'm glad I don't have body rot issues. I envy you guys who have the skill and patience to cut and weld cars back together.
Finished blasting and priming the tin from a 2L-6 engine today. Hope the hot weather sticks around long enough to spray a couple of good coats of semi-gloss black on them. |
