Brought Chucky home after spending 9 weeks at Body Shop.

I used PPG Single Stage over white primer and sealer.

Time to reassemble (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer3.gif)

Good deal on the transmission. Heavy sucker compared to the stock transmission.

dropped it off at AutoSpa Hilton Head, Xpel installer, getting full front and quarters done tomorrow. in one bay getting done was a beautiful 911 Gt3, not sure of the color, a grey, very nice! didn’t take any pictures, sorry! pretty cool , not he and his assistant and co installer were both loving the copper metallic. hopefully this will help keep it looking nice for a long time. should be well worth the investment.

G86-20. Gotta watch those, second gear has a tendency to fail on them. You can check my build thread on a g86-21 in a 914.

Go Big or Go Home

I am in the process of converting to a standard Boxster/Cayman shifter from teh custom one I made. It worked, but not real well.

Saturday did my first sprint in the 914 (I think you call them Auto X, if I'm right?). Located on a former WWII airfield, now known as Spitfire Raceway! Very tight and twisty bends with long-ish straights – short course so only needing 2nd and 3rd gears. Fun but exhausting on the stock seat as sliding around too much!

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) Took a nice cruise over to Palo Alto Speedometer to return a sender I did not need and to let Hartmut check out the car that his beautiful instruments went in. He liked the car a lot. Great people to do business with. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Downloaded, printed, completed, signed, dated and mailed the (hopefully) proper forms to the DMV for Elvira's registration renewal. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/stones.gif)

Just went and picked up my son and took him to lunch then on the first real canyon road drive. He just loved the way the car handled nice and flat. No, I was not "in it" either. I think the fastest we went was 60 MPH but the road had a lot of really nice sweeping curves and really no traffic. On the way home I gassed up and did the calcs and I am getting 26 MPG. Not bad. Added a 2006 Boxster to the Porsche stable. The Teener threw a fit and started to run on 3 cylinders. Found a fouled plug and replaced it. She's fine now

Have to admit that Boxster is a fine piece of machinery.

That picture just emphasizes the physical size difference between a 914 and a Boxster. 40 years of "Progress".

Dropped engine about 6 months ago, got to decision time on painting tins, had me stumped for 2 months, then decided to paint myself only to find my family had moved my blasting media over 50' from my shop for no reason w/o telling me.

Weeks looking for it thinking I've lost my mind knowing where I last saw it.

In frustration, my good Teener friend Rick Berkowitz insists, "Get them powder coated." and gets a quote for me. I check a top Porsche source for best powder coater, got price from him yesterday, dropped tins off this AM expecting them Wednesday.

Lo & behold he calls me at 2:30pm that they are ready! Exhausted from days of intense work on a major project, I picked them up about 4:30, knew I'd then come home and crash.

But seeing the engine sitting there, even totally exhausted - I had to try them on.

You know the rest of the story - I couldn't stop.
