Drove the '74 for the first time in two weeks last night. Just went to the gym and back but it was still 50 miles of twisty roads out of Valley Center to San Marcos and back.
Loved every minute of it although, some of the dash lights have gone dark. Gonna have to take a look at that when I have time breath.

My dash lights went out on Saturday as well! And took the licence plate lights with them - fuse #7 on my '75 2.0. I spent Sunday trying to find the short that's blowing the fuse and failed. I think it's the rheostat for the dash lights in the light switch. It is probably an intermittent fault too. I pulled the feed to the lightswitch off the back of the fuse panel so I coulld guarantee the licence plates are working when I take the car in tomorrow for it's Warrant of Fitness inspection....

I have LEDs on order from 914 Rubber for the dash lights so might bypass the rheostat completely - I'll see when they arrive.

I turned an old gauge into a clock....

You need gas. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif)

You should see if you can adjust it so you can change according to your mood.

Ha! I do...but the funny part is that the fuel gauge portion is just a piece of paper with a photo of the gauge printed on it taped behind the opening....

Nice, Rob.

I finally managed to get the cheeseheads out of the passenger side- yea! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ar15.gif) - decades of dirt drooped out and I knocked out a bit of rust on the jackpoint - the rest is solid though.

last time #7 blew on me it was the wires at the license plate lights that had shorted.

500-mile round trip (mostly in the rain) to the one and only Porsche show over here this year (Rennsport Collective) and got snapped by photographer (thanks Chris Tarling!) – love the matching autumn colours...

See here what ive been up to- timing and tuning : http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?sho...49488&st=20

changed the setting on the 123ignition, got idle down to proper level now, and i would say its running better than ever, using curve "C" , and with new TPS, and new rebuilt MPS from Jeff Bowlsby, its running as good as it looks, also recent new tires all around, and the rear spare tire mounted and the intergrated spare gas tank in place. Next weekend i am going to replace the washer mechanism, install the electric pump and new wiper mechanism....... not much left to do, might need a new project......

Only a couple of quick phone pics of part of the display during set-up as I was there with a photographer who was shooting for a mag.

Found some rust when restoring the engine compartment, so installed NOS battery tray and support... also took out a small piece of compromised metal against the firewall. We cannot find any more rust to address, but that’s what we thought six months ago (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
