Getting ready to trailer 'HOWARD' to AZ ... maybe this coming week (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

Trailered the Cayman there a couple weeks ago and it's lonely it the big garage with no family members to chat with (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Hope y'all had a Merry Christmas (IMG:style_emoticons/default/santa_smiley.gif)

Today I taught my youngest to drive with 3 petals in my 914. The next chapter begins.

Congrats cgh! I have fond memories of teaching both my boys (now 34 and 37) how to drive a stick though they learned on a 325i...

Got some really nice offset window winders from GoWesty but couldn't resist adding some lightness! Pics are "as delivered" and then after a bit of time on the mill.

If you're looking for some seriously nice winders, albeit not a stock look, these are super well made.

My 'brother from another mother', Warren (not actually blood related) taught me the heel/toe method in a '69 MGB ... in a beach city called El Porto - where the steep streets are similar to some streets in the SFO area (IMG:style_emoticons/default/yikes.gif)

Finished refurbing my engine lid......completely "matted out". For those who are missing the Porsche letters, or "flair" as I call it, I have attached some random flair. Enjoy!

Took the 'kids' for a short ride around the neighborhood. Almost 50 here, but not going to last. Haven't had her out in a couple months, so a little warmup run before I put her away for the winter.
Looks like I finally need to get that master cylinder installed that I bought from 914Rubber at least a year ago... Brake pedal almost went to the floor..
Probably a PMB rebuild on the calipers also

Had a busy 914 day.
Gave the battery a good charge, drained the old gas and replaced with fresh and viola - it runs and smoothly at that.
While messing around in the driver’s seat, pumped the brakes and the master cylinder gave up the ghost. Better to have brake fluid all over the floor than all over the highway ... Pulled the master cylinder and ordered 19mm updated version from 914Rubber.
Still messing with wiring in the engine bay and rear lights.

It is cold and rainy outside here in Germany, first road salt is out on the street.
I took the 914 for a nice and save indoor drive. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

First, I've got to say that I love this forum.
I always attempt a repair first, to see if I can do it on my own but, the times that I have hit road blocks, I can search here and get the solution. So thanks to everyone who posts their trials and tribulations!
I put on the exterior door handles and changed the upper steering column bearing today on the '75.
I used the site to help me figure out how to pull the new bearing back out. The original one slid right out and had no remnants of the inside plastic bushing in the bearing (which is why I had so much play in the wheel) but, when I put the new one in, I realized that the play was still there and I had to pull that out. Which didn't just slide out like the original one did.
After about and hour of trying to work it out, I went to the forum, searched for the solution and found out the easy way to get it done.
This link is what did it: http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=182321
Thanks again everyone!
