Yes euro it does or it wouldn't be useful for nearly half the year!!
Except today I had to have the door cracked when starting the car, and I still almost got asphyxiated! |

I got new tires and wheels for the Cayman. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)
So how do I get the take-offs home since they won't fit in any of my trunks or frunks and I no longer have a tow vehicle? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) Easy. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Just strap them to my Mobile Tire Rack / Roll Cage. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon22_2.gif) Attached thumbnail(s) |

Installed a 123 ignition wireless dizzy. Went in really easily. Car starts and idles like a dream, which was not the case with the old, frozen 009. Ran out of time but hope to get out and test things out tomorrow.

Drove Elwood to Cars and Coffee this morning.
I saw what I thought was a new Corvette, turned out it was a Ferrari. |

Drove Elwood to Cars and Coffee this morning. I saw what I thought was a new Corvette, turned out it was a Ferrari. That must have been disappointing. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I've only seen a few. Lots of fancy cars in this neck of the woods, but only a few of the new mid-engine. Probably see more when the season starts up again. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon22_2.gif) John, that reminds me of how to transport auto-X wheels and tires in a Fiat X1/9. I was thinking about how to transport AX tires in a 914. Take an old targa top, and put two long all thread bolts in it sticking up. Reenforce the attachment points on the top with big metal plates. Slip the lug holes of the wheels over the bolts, and put a nut on, then a second tire on top of that one. Drive to the AX, remove that top, and put the good one on from the trunk. Then swap the tires. Clay |

Working with the Youtube from PMB, I disassembled the rear calipers. Straightforward and thanks to PMB for documenting. Next step, get the rebuild kit and go to town.

Stopped by the Mechanic's yesterday. They got the engine in the car, it's all wired up, I got to listen to it run and watch them drive it around their yard.
It sounds SO GOOD! The motor has a mild racing cam in it, (I don't remember the specs on it right now, have to dig up the paperwork) and the Triad exhaust just tops it off. Thanks @triaddave for the awesome sound there. I'll post a video of it this week. I don't know why I didn't take one while I was there but, I was so caught up in the moment that I didn't even think of it. The mechanics that are working on it LOVED the Tangerine Racing Throttle and Shift Linkage kits as well. They were stoked to work with such high quality parts. Thanks for that @chrisfoley . These guys are old timers and it's fun to actually impress them with something new sometimes. They're bleeding the brakes and wiring up the lights and we'll take it for a spin around the block I was borderline giddy when I left there yesterday! |
