Thanks - that is a bit encouraging. Mine never gets close to the red, about 1/4 of the way from it. Is that good?

Wondering how I could add an accurate digital oil temp gauge without removing the existing oil temp sending unit? Don't want to remove original sending unit. Any place I could put a sending unit for a digital gauge?

GN

They all run close to the red mark. The gauge on the earlier models really spooked drivers. Thats why Porsche changed them later. You can always install some aftermarket digital gauge and sender to verify.

You can buy oil plug senders. I have used them before and it works very well and is quite responsive to temp changes in the engine. I can dig up the link if you are interested. Just replaces your oil drain plug.

Yes! Please send me that link! Once I know what the actual oil temps are, I can make a decision on adding an oil cooler.

Thank you!

Beautiful job! A bit ashamed to say much nicer than mine, and I have new powder-coated tins........

My main problem is engine being covered with dust as my driveway is 1/2 mile gravel (through neighbors land) after a couple trips....

May I ask which carbs you have? Look like Webers.......

Installed my engine!

Pretty dirty in there as well. I certainly need to clean the engine bay. It's been slowly gathering dust sitting in the garage waiting for the day it gets to go vroom-vroom. These are Weber 44 IDFs on the car's original 1.8L big-bored to a 2.3L

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) Took it to our weekly Cars 'n Coffee in Danville at the Livery. We always have anywhere from 40 to 75 cars that show up of all types. Today, this was my all-time favorite. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif)

Yeah, the 246 Dino GT/GTS is my all-time dream car. I really would not have to even drive it (of course I would). Just to see it in my garage and be able to wax that beautiful body would likely be enough. Funny, the 246 is the Ferrari bastard step-child just like the 914 was to Porsche. I guess I have really bad taste in cars. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/slap.gif)

@ 914rubber
Hi Matt! Thank you again for this 914rubber cap you gave me last Luftgekühlt 6 at Universal Studio!

Trying to convinced April Ross to buy a 914 and buy her parts from 914 Rubber. Even with Jake Gibb and Taylor Crabb to remember 914 Rubber!
Look at the Match Point score “9-14”

Sad no 914world member at the AVP Beach Volleyball Manhattan Beach!

@SLK1 - I watched him park in that spot and gingerly get out of the Dino. I would say he was 70 and 6'1" and slim. I was impressed. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Getting ready for today's C&C, I pressure washed the engine and engine bay as they were covered in dirt & dust from our 1/2 mile gravel road.

Not surprised that engine would not start right afterwards, so left it out last night to dry out.

Bummer. Still wouldn't start at 7am this morning - yes, checked all ignition wiring and all seems well.

She was so pretty, all washed inside and out, ready to show off. All dressed up & nowhere to go.

Gonna go out & try again now.........

Well, now that I have new rotors and rebuilt calipers installed, I WAS going to finish bleeding the brake lines. That was until I discovered the new stainless steel lines I installed (only 2 fortunately) are leaking at both ends no matter how tight I made the fittings. Anyone else have problems with stainless lines?
The old/still usable lines and one new OE steel line snugged up fine and no leaks.
