Worked on the measuring new hybrid axle length for the Subi trans. Subi axle on top. 914 on the bottom. Cut, test fit, and temp weld them together next, then off to the axle guys for final fabrication.

Can't believe it's taken me almost 18 months, but I finally installed the quiet muffler I bought from Ben ( @mb911 ) back in 2020. Workmanship is pretty amazing--you can tell he really cares about what he's making. It's almost too pretty to hide behind the rear valance.
Thanks Ben! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif) |

After a year of hunting parts and machine work we started the assembly of our 69 911S 2.0, for a narrow body six conversion.

After 8 months I can finally post to this thread again. I picked up my 914 from the paint shop!
Hoping to get things all back together for Summer. Attached thumbnail(s) |

Pulled the hub into the right rear trailing arm. It went in much easier than I expected, considering the difficulty getting it out ...

Went to car and coffee in Scottsdale this morning with my daughter, only three 914s today, last month we had SIX! Then picked up my son, went to lunch, made some minor adjustments to the car, and spent the rest of the day working in the 280z he bought a few days ago.

Put a new set of cocomats into the '74 today. Not much but, it spruce's up the interior a bit.

I'd been toying with the idea of a cupholder for a while--and that large sweet tea was the the last straw.
I found this adjustable/locking 2-drink unit by Spill-master (at O'Reilly's) and cut up a piece of zinc-coated sheetmetal to hold it in place: The vertical part of the bracket fits into the underside of the holder: Just enough room for the carpet/mat to hold it in place: Bracket goes under the mat: And the holder goes onto the bracket: et voila! ("and walla!") (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) The base of the bracket (the part covered by the mat) is 9x12-inch, so I don't think it's going anywhere...and I can always take it out if I decide to get a little crazy G-wise. I used the remaining piece of sheetmetal to make a 2nd version of the bracket with a longer/taller vertical part; it allows the cup holder to sit on the center tunnel instead of the floor: The holder seems a little less steady there, so I've decided this version is going into my old Volvo wagon instead...
