Rolling rolling rolling, get those doggies roiling rawhide. Put more parts back on to make this a roller and it is very close to go to PMB Performance to finish. The v8 vision is now a RAT 2170
With light suspension and brakes

A great move for this car as I am near 70 and its just too hard for me now.
My buddy mark and I did put all the suspension in front and rear and engine and trans and have War wounds to prove it.

Nice Bob, I just finished the rear wing and it's adjustable Gurney flap. Probably install it tomorrow.

Gosh I am slow, but tomorrow my build thread is probably going to go over 40,000 Viewers.

Installed new vintage license plate frame. From what my research found, it is a one year only frame from 1971.

Getting her ready for Werks Reunion on Friday. Spent about 4 hours getting her to look nice. My car is not a trailer queen so we will drive her down to Monterey, about 250 miles, then give her a quick wipe down on the lawn. Hopefully she represents well for our community. Took the 914 to a car show locally on the island. Good turnout, 914 didn't win anything. 356C next to me took third place for German cars.

Fun day, great weather.

Added an exterior kill switch. Now the grill and side vents have to be primed, painted, and trimmed out.

I put the rear wing back on the car to run and locate the wires. Once I got the wing in place I ran the wires and used a plastic wire clip with double sided tape to hold it down and led them to the wires coming out of the air box. So I only have 2 connectors in the hole circuit. One at the servo and one at the air box. I need more heat shrink. Pictures after sunrise.

stranded yesterday after cars and coffee, wouldn’t start. fuel pressure was good pump primed, no click or anything at the start position , so figured it was ignition switch, which ended up being correct.
i had just put the tow bar on last week so i got to test it out and towed the car home. pulled the steering, and the switch. Did some research about replacing it. i found that the Pelican article only applies to early cars. More search i found the correct description
for a later car.
-pull the steering wheel , 27mm socked for steering wheel,
pull the switch assembly , first disconnect the wires from the back,
then remove the signal and washer wiper lever assembly by removing the 4 small flat head screws.
- remove the 6mm hex screw underneath and the whole ignition switch assembly will pull off - oh remove the circlip first inset key and turn to first position this moves the steering lock me hand lets the assembly slide forward, once out off the steering shaft , from behind remove the small screw holding the plastic ignition switch and pull it out the back (key should be back in the off position until new switch is put in and you reinstall the assembly.

So props to Jeff Patterson of type4revolution in Pooler/Savannah Georgia , he had a used but like new German 6 pin switch that i was about to go over and get to install today!!

i know i’ve seen other threads of others going thru this with the failed cheap switches. anyone able to source a new German switch? Pelican says they have one,

al back together
