I'm doing the final preparations for the installation of the Adurino board. Everything is labeled with numbers and the motors have an indicator of direction.
I only post this over here because it is so off the wall and different to the norm. Thank you for your tolerance but I think that without posting here I would never have reached 41,000 viewers. |

Despite the heat and smoke, (damn fires) we took her to the local Auburn Hot Rod show. They do this on the 2nd Friday night of every month, May to September in Old Town on Lincoln. Given the weather conditions, we still had a great turnout. There were a surprising number of '66 Mustangs and Novas. We also had to blown dragsters show up with Elephant motors and they started those up so people could feel the sheer power of those motors.
I had the only European car there but was given a great parking spot, right next to the grandstand and band. Sorry there are not more pictures, once cars began arriving and people showed up it was crowded. Vendors provided food and drink. We grabbed a great meal at one of the restaurants on the street where this event is held as we believed we should support them for indulging a bunch of Q-Tips and their toys. |

Degreased a bunch of 1.8 and 2.0 tin, getting ready for another build. Mounted an interior rear view mirror with 3M VHB tape. It never stops

After months or research, I ordered and received an Eastwood 140 MIG welder. It seems to be perfectly optimized for welding sheet metal on a 914.

All smokey here today due to the Mosquito Fire, so my car remains in the garage, under a cover. Hoping that Sunday brings rain as predicted to stop this mess. Fortunately, our land is nice and clear after doing tree and brush work for the past 8 months. I always wonder, with all of the homeless people "camping" all over the forested areas around us how many of these fires are started by them? They are all over and the Placer County Sheriff's Department does nothing.
In town there was an old van parked across from a bank on a 1-block side street. Covered with a tarp and garbage in the street and thrown about the adjacent landscape- all around the van. I called the Sheriff after the van had been there 72 hours and they said they will do nothing. They also said that the garbage was the van owner's personal property and not garbage. I said, "Why is it strewn about the street and landscape then?" The Dispatcher got all upset and said she will not send a deputy. Talk about stupid. I called the CHP since this is right off Highway 49 which runs through town and they said they would respond and address the issue. 2 days later then van was gone. Thank you CHP. I still believe the Sheriff should have done their job as this was not on the Highway, but a side street. Sorry, but if you allow them to take root, I fear we will end up looking like SF, Berkeley, Oakland, LA, etc. |
