Cleaned targa underside chrome and refinished backside face. Used technique recently described in restore targa top thread.
Now confident, so will start on topside this weekend. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

That looks awesome!

Might have been just me but I had issues with the half-round screw heads leaving marks in the vinyl on my roll bar. I ended up switching to flathead screws along the back to provide the necessary relief / prevent contact with the vinyl. I'm sure it would have eventually scraped through the vinyl. Something to watch for, i guess.

Nice QB call! Maybe yours were too-long replacements?
Mine are the originals, so worked just fine - took out, polished with slat pieces and screwed back in.

Scored a side shift transaxle, SS heat exchangers (Lexington, KY) engine bar, electronic ignition, and a LE spoiler (Cincinnati, OH) today. To Chicago on Sunday for most of rest of the shifter stuff. Only need motor mounts and a bushing, assuming the transaxle is OK.

I just finished the rough fitting for the drivers side plenum. There's still finishing to make it a clean install and the plexiglass tops. I'm putting the sensors in the middle of bases because I don't want to have to pull them when I get curious.

In the picture, from the Gurney Flap to the exhaust grill work for the oil coolers the engine bay looks awesome.

Dug out my better RH side door handle from storage as the one on the car was driver side and had crappy chrome,bit of history this part was 1 of 3 crap ebay buys I have ever had.
Handle was described as RH side in good condition but there were no pics of the underside...asked for them and got a reply saying it was mint,no problems so I click "buy now" and it arrives in good time via my freight forward,mounting tab is cracked and about half way buggered but the chrome is great.
Seller contacted and he asks for more pics and sent those with no reply ever until after 2 weeks I post negative on him and he replyed quickly and abused me saying he would have refunded my money and keep the handle for free....some people (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) .
Sorted the mounting as I have mounting tab repair system on my handles anyway so sorted .

Got the engine off the shelf. started degreasing, WD'd the cylinders. It turned over freely without hesitation.

Installed a fuel pressure gauge from Aeromotive. One of the cool features of this gauge is that it has a vent valve on it, so that you can vent the gauge case pressure, and it will equalize the gauge back to atmospheric pressure. Supposedly, due to the oil inside of these gauges, the pressure reading can become skewed as the car warms up, variables change, etc.

After installation.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) Gauge was reading right at 3.0 psi. Felt pretty good about it. Data is good.

I didn't have the patience to wrap my trim so I brought in a local gal to do my 914 and Jerry's 914 (LS1V8Jerry)

Home for the holidays so pulled the car out of its slumber in my grandfather's garage. At least my car had some good company while I was away!

College is great but I sure do miss this thing when I'm away. Hopefully next year it will be joining me...

Thanks Oscar. This was my first real attempt at wrapping. It went better than I anticipated...that said, I probably could have wasted less material if I had "sub'd" it out. I'm trying to get practice so I can do the whole car. BTW....those are 3 absolutely gorgeous Porsches! I love the blacked out look. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)
