Just a note- because it will be a bit before potting I coated the copper with mineral oil. Should keep the oxygen away and easy to clean off with mineral spirits.

Took my Six to the Cars 'n Coffee in Carmichael this morning. Every Sunday from 7-10. Man, what a great turnout of hot roads and all types of great cars. Probably just under 100 cars and they tell me that 150 cars is not unusual. Some really nice serious hot rod stuff. We will be making this a pretty regular spot as it is only 30 miles from the house. So I decided to open up my front air inlet for my oil cooler to increase air flow on those hot hot days. So here is the result. Ben @MB911 modified a bumper I sourced from DrPhill @DRPHIL914 so the opening mirrored my valance opening. I then sent it to a chrome shop that did a great job finishing the bumper and chroming it. I installed it today. I can see I need to adjust my valance for a consistent reveal but I plan to have the front bumper off in October/November for some additional work where we will screen the opening and spray the exposed opening, now Irish Green, Satin Black, so I will address that then. I think it came out nice; I also removed the 2 license plate bracket holes for a cleaner look. So here you go with a before, during and after picture: very nice, turned out like it was meant to be that way. are you considering a mesh in the venting area that’s open? |

Started on the trailing arm light restoration on the Bumblebee. New bearings led to new bushings, to new paint. I wasn't going to touch the rear, or for that matter the front suspension. Dammit. Everything is now being done short of an engine and trans rebuild. Which it does not need. Rennsport here we come!

That will teach me to do this on my phone. Sorry for the double post. Started on the trailing arm light restoration on the Bumblebee. New bearings led to new bushings, to new paint. The transmission was threatening to grind into 1st and reverse. Tightened up the clutch cable and will see if that does it.

Drove our 73 1.7 to work and saw a grey teener with script on the side ripping towards the I5 on-ramp. Weird to see another on the road.
