Got the backup lights fixed. I had checked the switch, it was fine. So during the course of messing with the new AAR, I pulled the cover off the relay board in the engine bay. Harness looked ok, pulled it off to look. Put it back on, nothing. Then gave it a couple wiggles.

Don’tcha know, lights! So I took a thin, sharp pick and opened the terminals on the board ever so slightly.

All good (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Ordered new set of Toyo R888R tyres (tires!) to go on these, the new PAG 'Campy' wheels in 6 x 15, available in four-lug (VW, 914/4) or five-lug (Porsche PCD) from Group 4 Wheels. This will be the first set on any car, anywhere... Weigh 6kg - slightly lighter than factory sixes.

I changed two fuel lines on the race car, adjusted the shift linkage, changed the rear brake pads, and put the air cleaners back on.

Just received my bumpers back from the Chrome shop, I will be doing the final touchup, sanding, filing on the copper plated bumpers, and then back for final copper dip, polish and chrome plating.

Fitted the new Group 4 Wheels PAG 'Campy' wheels and Toyo R888R rubber today. 6 x 15 ET36. Personally I love the look (and the fact it's a brand new wheel aimed at narrow body 914s and early 911s. Available in four and five lug, too!)

Drove her hard today, saw 118 indicated for a couple seconds. 2056 with Elgin cam twin Webers 28 vents. 185/65 x 15 Michelin skins. Was still climbing but getting light.

Getting anxious for the 2.7 conversion hopefully get some seat time this season

Started my younger son on stick shift in the 914. He got a huge kick out of it - big smiles all around!

Awesome. Start them young. Logistically, due to having two cars at my camp site this week, i needed my 18 year old son to drive my /6 back from Laguna Seca to my home in San Jose solo. He had an option of coming home the flat way up 101 or driving hwy 17 through the Santa Cruz mountains. He made it home. Wanna guess which way he drove?

A paparazzi took my picture, again… in my Sunday drive, after a meeting with some VW friends

But I really liked this one.

nothing too exciting, put new schnor washers in the CV bolts in right side and new gasket, safety wired so that should keep them in place . got lucky and found them loose , only because i was checking something else! turns out i didn’t install a gasket last time these were off 6 months ago (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) DACO! well we all make mistakes got lucky and fought this before it became a major accident.
