Actually did this yesterday...continued relocating my fuel pump to frunk. Added two holes to the fire wall for fuel lines and used the existing factory hole for the 12awg wire which runs through the tunnel back to Pin 1 on the dedicated circuit of T4b on the relay board, per Andy's Fuel Pump Carb Conversion thread. Also added a new power supply relay as mine was missing. Now I have to find a grommet that will fit the factory hole in the frunk.

I finished up this seat, well it still needs trim and base mounts. My next move is to make a pattern from this one so I can repeat it in thicker material. This one is in .063. I think that the seat needs to be a least .090, but I think that , this might sound wimpy but I'm afraid of trying to bend 1/8th.

That came out pretty cool, Joe. Is it comfy? I’m going to just add bolsters to my stock ones. But good to know there is another way.

Working with Mark Sonners on this RAT 2170 Rebuild then Going over to George the Machinist To have him put it on the test stand and run it for a few minutes, than off to PMB Motorsports on pallet to put in my 74 blue car body I have had for 13 years .

Finished the fuel pump relocation and installed the new gas tank.... yeah I know... I really need to clean and paint my car....but right now, it's some of the best driving weather in Georgia so that will have to wait. This was also the first drive since installing the front sway bar......HUGE difference!
Oh and Big Thanks to Chris at Tangerine for putting together a nice kit for SS lines/fuel pump/filter combo! That pump is soooo much quieter than my last pump.

Worked on the transition of the shifter rod and the added splined end for the u joint. Even though it will be under the car, I just couldn’t leave it the way it was. Better now

Thanks Paul, it pulls on my heart strings every time see it. It fits perfect, had to bend it twice, narrowed down and now it hugs my hips and touches me almost to my armpit. 0h weight, still needs base brackets and trim. I weighed it before foam and it was 3 pounds and 7 ounces. I might have to build something to bend the new one with.

Very informative, thank you for sharing. Most if not all of this 50+ years old technology is quite simple, but having the thread is helpful.

-drove 400 miles ,8 hours on thursday to Chattanooga TN, shows at the Car Club Showcase, went to Mecum auction today, saw some awesome Ferrraris and other amazing rare cars, heading home tomorrow, back to SC tomorrow.
met porsche racer Brian Redman, Photog ,
producer and 914 owner Jeff Swart, and car guy tv personality Wayne Carrini while he was taking pictures of my car and may very cool and interesting people.
another 1000 miles logged on the 914!

More work on the 2270 RAT eng. And clean the shop and tools after the rebuild. Off to Georges on Tues for test run in then off to PMB Performance to have it installed in the Blue 74 car

So I was not happy with the action of the Gurney flap on the rear wing. It was heavy and slow. I had noticed a little flop as it pivoted so I pulled it apart to check it out but that's when Derek White's disease got me and took apart the frame to install a brace in the trailing end of the wing. While I had it apart I decided to flip the hinge I had installed it with the pivot up. Looks much cleaner with the pivot down.

Put a set of new 914Rubber visors in the BB we just got to replace the old, sagging, crunchy set that it came with. They look great and more importantly don't sag down into my field of vision. I bought 2 sets of them in a GB more than two years ago to put in my previous cars, but thankfully never put them in. Then I put them in my stockpile of parts and promptly forgot I had them....I've got to go through everything and put together an inventory.

Also, finally started going through the stash of parts that came with the car and found a set of four NOS 2.0 injectors....like finding gold!

Marks startup video. We rebuilt this 2270 RAT Eng. built by Jake in 2005 that went bad after a several year run. Oiling problem took out a main bearing. We did a full rebuild on heads, Align Bore, Rebuilt rods. Balanced, Clutch. Flywheel machined. New pressure Plate, Everything. The Machinist, George. Said it needed. And there you have it. They put in on there test setup and great oil pressure and George says it sounds go to go to PMB Performance tomorrow. To be installed in. Our 1974 two-liter body with no rust. CA car blue plates

Been having a tidy up of my wiring on the loom Perry made me ,somewhat untidy on the CDI and wiring that joins in to the same area from dizzy ,used Deutsch plugs when I installed and pleased to see they were dry inside as without the rain tray its a bit of a "wet area" .
Removed my custom battery box and carved a bit of weight of it as I made it out of pretty heavy plate which was what I had @ the time ,sanded it back and used original silver and a thick goat of clear as it was only primed with zinc primer back then.
I designed the tray to fit various sizes of small AGM batteries ,currently running a Katana sports battery,270CCA and really packs a punch ,plenty for my needs.

Was going to refit that today but my carb kits came in from Germany today so will start pulling carbs and striping them for ultrasonic clean @ my mates motorbike resto shop .
Had the carbs apart when I first reconed them before 2.2T when in to my roller ...had forgotten how many parts in these carbs looking @ the new kits .
