Started new engine & moved car back and forth in garage until it was perfectly centered between my lift posts for dropping the tranny.

LOVING the way the engine starts & purrs when idling, even when cold......

Pulled the rack, after all. The gas tank was already out. Happy that I did - the holes in the rubber puck were wallowed out and the "bushing" with the pin bearings looks pretty cruddy (and scratchy sounding when spun on the shaft).

Reinstalled lightweight trunk lids which had spent the last year matt black with stripes, now redone in Nepal Orange to match the rest of the car.

Standox paint scanning technology meant a perfect match for the 20 year old US-applied orange!

Digging into my doors and found that my drivers side map pocket had gotten wet ober the years warped badly and ripped out 2-3 screw mounting holes in the "fiber board" that it is made out of. Trying to think of ways to save it and I hit upon remoisturizing the pocket and realigning it.

I dinked the mounting edge in steaming water and used the mounting bracket as a template as it dried. I dipped it 2 x and let set for a few days. The mounting edge returned straight and true and the augered out mounting holes closed up enough that I won't have to use the plumber's tape back I thought I would need to remount!

Got myself a pair of maxilite wheels in 16”x6” to measure and define the rears…
Got some titanium nut & bolts and we are waiting for the PMB 5 lug kit to arrive.

Drove Ruby 914 for first time in couple weeks since losing 4th & 5th gears a couple weeks ago - details in my Phast II Rebuild thread.

All systems running like new and cannot wait to get the new top-end broken in so I can let this new 2056 rip and see what she'll do!

Well, I touched my 914 for the first time in a month. First I rolled it back about a foot to get access under the front. I then measured the clearance and distance to the front axle in order to estimate the approach angle. BTW, I got about 16° with the stock valance. (I am trying to figure out trailer ramp clearance.)

Then I rolled the car forward about a foot. Sad.

Removed the antenna and spot welded a washer in its place. Removed the radio and speakers. I never listened to the radio or CD player as it was nicer hearing the Triad West exhaust!

Finally got my 2.0 w/D-jet ran right.
The problem was the CHT which was stuck at ６KΩ!!!
There was popping in the intake and exhaust as it warmed up.
Changed it to known good one.
I have now steady idle plus the idle screw at the TB and the idle adjusting knob at ECU are responsive.

Took me a while to find this culprit.
I can finally move on to the alignment next weekend.

saturday i drove an hour to a car show , then thru some country side back home , we had nice weather finally and was able to get the car out of the garage. hasnt been driven much this winter , but Werks and Amelia C&C are coming up so its time to get it cleaned up detailed and ready for the trip! its been cold here so i need to get both heat tubes hooked up !

isnt that is a weird failure for a CHT ? glad it was an easy fix!
