Wow! Terri hasn't aged a day!
Congrats to both of you! You were married on my birthday! GN Got this from one of the kids yesterday: So we decided to do a little re-do.... and followed it up with a 2-hour drive on our favorite local back roads to start the celebration (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) |

Just drove to several stores today, but Saturday was huge at the Shenandoah Spring
Fling where Ruby got tons of attention - many had never seen her Porsche color, L31C, Malaga Red, and loved it - like I do. Here I am checking in with friend & 914 race driver Bates McLain checking me in and my good friend Rick Berkowitz on my tail as he so often is when I lead him in Virginia's best twisties......oops, pic is wrong format...... GN And one at the Winery for lunch: (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/hosting.photobucket.com-21449-1713989589.1.JPG) |

Today we put the custom seat covers on (made by Dale Hancock) Just to protect the leather, as tomorrow we are off to the wrench (DutchTreat) to get the trick trans linkage worked out.
I took a picture of the back pad light that is from a early 911. Metal with real chrome, I like much better than the factory all plastic units. Best Bob B |

Yup, that is the light we will put in my back pad when the time comes. Very nice looking light and works much easier without the little switch. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Picture from today AAA flat tow to DutchTreet in Alhambra, they are going to work out the shift linkage! It needs a little love and it is just too hard to do on the ground. Alan S took this picture as I was driving.

Best Bob B Bob, The car is absolutely lovely (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif) Any tips on installing the 911-style light in the back pad? Inquiring minds want to know... Alan S took this picture as I was driving. Best Bob B (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving-girl.gif) Well, that was easy. Robert at DutchTreet fixed me up on the shifting today. I worry too much and he attached the parts back and got it shifting just the way Eric at PMB said it shifted. I have no idea what happened but some how it was not working right when we drove it home from my birthday party delivery over a year ago and not only Mark S and Alan S had problems with it as well as me. All very experienced 914 owners. Well, it works great now I just have to put the rest of the interior back in. It needs an adjustment on the brake light as it takes so little pressure on the unbelievable brakes that Eric did that the brake light does not go on innless you push it hard. I have early S calipers and special vented 914-6 rears that stop almost like they are power brakes, but they are not. Very happy as I am getting it totally dialed in. Picture of me driving away Best Bob B Burton |

911 interior light in Bob B’s 914-6
I have been asked how the 911 interior light fits in a 914 and I am showing you a vid and a couple of pix’s from Dale Hancock showing how to put the light in. He reinforced the back of my factory 54-Year-Old back pad. And it worked out great. I think 5 min epoxy would work well. Best Bob B https://youtu.be/S0y1f6546h8 |

New ignition cylinder and switch! Steering lock works now and my flaky switch is history. It never completely quit but it was about 60% success when you turned the key.
Not to mention the key was probably only an option for starting er up prior to this (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Any key or a screwdriver would have worked just fine. Not a bad job to do! As most stuff on my cars, I shoulda done it sooner. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) |

My 914 was delivered about 2 weeks ago and I got the plates last Tuesday.
After a couple of test rides around the neighborhood, the idle was really high (~~1800 RPM) which made it hard to get into first gear - so I adjusted the idle done The brakes were really soft, so on Saturday, I bled the brakes. After 2 quarts of fluid I still couldn't get a hard pedal but it was better. I'm going to have my mechanic take a look at it when he does the inspection this week. Yesterday was a big car show (Tobay Beach on Long Island, NY) so I took the car and spent the day getting sunburnt. I had the only 914 there and it got a lot of attention which really surprised me This thing is like my bug - everyone has a story about one. |

Got in a couple of hours before the day got too warm for me. Oil temp topped out at 215 when air temperature was 84, so car seems to do better in the heat than I do. Bob @Burton73 , thanks for posting the pictures of the back pad light! |
