Drove it another twenty miles or so this weekend. Still shaking it down but, seems to be doing good. Gonna take it to the alignment shop this week, once the shims get here, and get the 4 wheel alignment set properly. The back end is way out on the passengers side.
Excited to get this far. Still a little nervous about driving it, just because of all the idiots out there in the world but, having fun and moving forward.
Once the alignment is complete, I will take it down to Crusing Grand, they have a Vintage Porsche day coming up on August 16th, I believe.
Also going to start taking to cars and coffee in Rancho Santa Fe as well.
Here's an older pic, before I had the new shocks installed. (ride height in the back is a little to high in this pic) The new shocks put it right where it needs to be. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) drove it last night to a local car club meeting , and on way home filled up with some no ethanol 90 octane( the 2.1 prefers 93 usually) and i had a bad hesitation on WOT at the 4500-5500 RPM level , so not sure if its bad fuel or some fouled plugs, i have not changed the plug the motor is 3 years new and i put about 5k miles on it inthe last 2 years, so it does sit a bit and i usually put stable in the tank too,
- i dont think its the TPS , but i might check this but usually that caused hesitation at 3000-3500 rpm (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

@sb914 I dig on the Big Ugly Bumpers. They remind me of growing up in the 70's, bell bottom pants, cut off shorts, skate board parks, undeniably poor fashion sense....
I thought about switching them out during the rebuild but decided against it. My 74 has the small bumpers and I'll restore that one next.

It’s like watching epoxy dry. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I stood there for a while with the torch chasing bubbles. After 20 minutes or so it seemed to settle down. I go out of the room and it developed a skin condition. Tried the torch and a needle, not budging. So my potting has a zit (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) otherwise it seems fine. I poured candle wax to plug the holes. I let it cool and carved out what wax didn’t need to be there. And since the epoxy has set up enough not to leak, I can tell you that it worked. I decided to use copper. I was sanding it and fitting the piece and the copper looked pretty good next to the black. So what do you guy’s think?

Baked a clear coat over the whole thing. Hoping the copper holds its finish. Now I need to move the switch. I may have to wait a bit on that, getting hot out here. Project needs to be small enough to get it inside.

After a nearly five year hiatus, I brought my 914 to Venice Beach Auto Body for rust repairs. Having the floor pans replaced and the non- functional dealer installed AC system deleted. The AC install caused rust damage to the right longitudinal. Looking forward to getting this project back on track!

Thanks again to Noel and Abe for their help dropping the engine! Attached Image
