Wiped the bird shit off it as a bird got into the garage. Nearing the end of the season depending on snow. I will continue to drive it until salt but maybe another month or 2 max

Got home from MN two days ago and put a charger on the 914’s battery; ran all the checks yesterday. Fired it up today, then a 15 mile road test. Good news—everything works! Love this old car! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

today i worked at trouble shooting a hesitation/miss issue that started on the way up to Okteenerfest. it was not constant and not severe and seemed to go away and then i would feel it sometimes on hard acceleration, but ran pretty good on the way home, but again showed back up the other day . SO i have been checking components and wires and connections etc. - i have this nice 2056 motor , running D-jet with 123ignition distributor, and everything related to fuel and spark is less than 5k miles.
- it feels almost like bad points, but no points in 123 distributor, so next thing to check i figured was all grounds then plugs and wires , mps, tps etc

so far my list items checked and "eliminated from probable cause"
- MPS: i rebuilt 2 years ago, holds vac perfectly
- TPS, NOS , checked with no corrosion or tracks
- one spark plug wire resistance varies when wire is twisted may be bad so replaced today,
- CHT cold resistance is correct, didnt test hot yet.

so still has that hesitation and wondering, if maybe the distributor is not sending a clean signal is that been seen with a 123? its only 5 years old.

I do not know anything about a 123 ignition, but that symptom sounds like when the coil on my 3.2 started to die...

Adjusted the front clamps on the top - more better. Good and tight now. Then drove Ruby last night for almost an hour.

Even with my awesome collection of old Porsches (914, 928, 944 S & Turbo) that all look, run & drive like new, she still is my fav. Probably because she is so unique and different - and such a joy to drive. & maybe because I restored her myself.

I love the gearing on the 901 tranny - seems perfect to me. And I love how she shifts. The 2056 is all I need for pep & speed.....don't need no 6.

The one-owner, new-to-me Turbo is a close 2nd though - very close. Like new, but it's like a modern car. In a different category. With Toyo Proxies for rubber, their grip is truly amazing in the hard turns.

Ruby is old-school - like me. And so much fun.

Michael, I have a spare coil, a new Bosch 3ohm coil, i might have to pop it in and see if it changes anything. You brought back a memory when in college i still had my Austin Healy and out of no where the points were fouled badly, and then really fast it was acting like this and it ended up being the coil as well. I know this coil was new when i finished the rebuild of the motor and installed it 3 years ago. I mean there are only a few things it could be that would make it act like that.......

I will let you know. wont take long to make the swap and test it out.
