Checked the oil and then went to the PO box in Seattle, down to Costco, stopped at the grocery store and then home. Maybe 40 miles total of top off driving in January...damn I love this car. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

I dropped the engine and trans out of Calypso so I can make sure I DON'T win next years dirtiest engine bay award at MUSR. Calypso will be headed to Brad Mayeur for a bit of rust repair.

Your car looks great, Jeff (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif)

Bumpers ... black or chrome?

All I accomplished today was some clean-up under the fuel tank area and installed some additional sound-deadening matting to the firewall. I came to the conclusion that the spray-on stuff wasn't going to cut the mustard.

What product did you use on the firewall? I am in the middle of interior tear down and insulation.

Matt

From what I understand, its an asphalt-based material used in roofing applications. Bob from Appbiz provided me with enough to cover the firewall when I purchased a carpet kit from him. He said it was similar to Dyna Mat, but less expensive.

I'll be covering the 'mat' with the same material that the carpet kit is made from. I'm still searching for some aluminum channel that will attach to the firewall (just below the window ledge) that will secure the top of the carpet and give it a nice finished look (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I can call Bob to see where he buys it from ...

Got it back on the road yesterday after replacing Starter, Ignition Switch and Voltage regulator. Broke the little tab inside the Steering wheel that the Horn wire plugs on to, so today I sodered a wire to the base plate and put a pull apart wire connector on the old and new wire, reassembled the steering wheel and BEEP BEEP. Gonna cuirse up to Sonic and get a Chilly Dog. 60 Degrees in Pa. Feb 1st who'd think it?.

Thanks,

I am putting chrome! I may have the fronts done by tonight! They are not perfect but should foot the bill until I find something nicer for a reasonable $$$!

Blasted the engine mount bar at my auto shop class last night, primed it today, will finish-coat it tomorrow.

Applied 1200 degree (ceramic) paint to the Triad muffler - black with silver tips (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Gathered up some misc small parts from the stash at home to take to the shop tomorrow ...

... and basically just enjoyed the nice sunny Southern California weather (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

Jeff - Your car is looking very nice. I think the early chrome bumpers would really look good.

Maybe can stay that way for a while -but r rain tomorrow (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
