Top is the after, the bottom was before. It stuck out way too far.

Yesterday got both doors fixed and back on the orange car, the shift rod was rubbing on something in the tunnel, thought it was the clutch tube I installed, turned out to be to long a bolt on the drivers seatbelt, fixed that and put the front bumper on. Now just an alignment. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) then I'll probably sell it. White cars already back from McMark....now just install the -6 and hook everything up.

Today need to move the orange car to the garage and clean up the shop to make room for the 73 914 with steel flares that's coming today....oops.

Finished installing new front shocks, balljoints, turbo tie rods, elephant rubber bushings, stock front sway bar, rear shocks and 100lb springs. Fixed the loose breather fittings on the air cleaners, and cleaned her up. Tanking her to the shop on Wed for a 4-wheel alignment then she'll be ready for Route 66 Albuquerque trip in 2 weeks.

I didn't have the ball joint nut tool but a brass drift and hammer worked just fine. I completely removed the A arms since I was doing bushings as well, that made the ball joint replacement easier in a vise. If you're installing turbo tie rods, I found it much easier to remove the tie rod end and slide the boot on the rod before installing. Much easier to fit the boot once the tie rod is in place because you don't have to force the small end of the boot over the large nut at the steering rack.

It took me a day for disassembly, day to clean, paint, and install new bushings and ball joints, and a 1/2 day to reassemble. I also did the shocks and installed a factory front sway bar. Good luck
