QUOTE(Philip W. @ Mar 23 2014, 12:23 AM) *

Started it for the first time in months, since replacing the push rod tubes and seals, clutch, flywheel, front and rear brakes and brake lines, bushings , bearings, new.5 lug, new.tires and fuchs!

Even though my brake pedal is still soft because I think I am still leaking from the supply line at the m
C. I coud not help but take it for a drive!!!! First run in 5-6 months and started in the first try! Idle warm at 900.
Not bad for a d-jet. Alsw was my first.time setting.the valves so I was happy to hear it run so smooth!
Still have to work out the brake issue, but I might give in and.let.the local porsche shop do it.
I have to give props to PMB and Eric , Bruce Stone for helpimg.me with most of what i have.
Oh, i forgot how much fun theae cars are to drive!!!

Nice job Philip (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif)

Today I added some jewelry to my tach face. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/first.gif)

Then I carbon fiber wrapped the gauge bezel.

Very happy new 914 owner. Carving these local canyons is kind of awesome. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Installed this muffler after temporarily used the 4 tip Ansa/monza muffler.
Better rounded sound although it is loud.

I sold it, the "driver" is gone.....but 914world gets a new member....and McMark gets a new customer....everyone wins. And I went for a drive before it left.

Now time to focus on the white car, hoping to get the -6 in and running in time for WCR (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

Thanks. One of the ideas I have had, thinking it might get pinched on pretty tight on each end. Cant say it fits like a glove though. I was thinking of shaving down any raised areas on the original where it was cracked and that might help the fit.

Got back from my desert trip on Sunday night. The Westy needs a bath (IMG:style_emoticons/default/FERG.gif)

I took delivery of a set of '99 MBZ CLK 320 wheels on Tuesday. I cleaned up one of them, filed down some curb rash and painted it with Rustoleum High Performance Wheel Paint (#248927 'Steel'), which is a silver metallic paint. Three more to go ...

I removed a paper clip that was sitting atop the front left tire on the 'BB' ... more than likely placed there by one of the local PD's 'meter maids'. I don't know why they keep screwing with my car ... it does need a bath, but it doesn't look that bad. I guess I should take it for a another drive, for more than one reason (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif)

A few LED strips inside the deck lid makes quite a statement.

Pulled the engine and trans. today, the engine is out of a vanagon 80-83 its been rebuilt but I just don't want it, thinking I'll list it on the samba and then start from scratch trying to replace/rebuild the correct 2.0 engine.

I'm on the fence with this one Mike. Make a better statement by adding a few rows of red led's. I can build you a circuit that would oscillate between both colors!

My research indicated that as long as they don't flash, it is not considered to mimic emergency vehicles.
