Spent the day in the shop, got the valves adjusted, new spark plugs, installed the valve covers. Installed the fan, hooked up the alternater, resealed the breather plate and the timing cover, new sump plate and gasket. Got the intake installed, with new injector sleeves. Cleaned up the wire harness a little.
Hoping to drive it to WCR.....we'll see. I need a new phone... Jeff |

Sprayed my finals coats of clear on Tuesday. Wet sanded and buffed right side of the car today. Wet sand and buff for the rest of the car over the weekend. Possibly the best driveway paint job on a 914 on my whole block (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) ....but seriously impressed with my results. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cheer.gif) Also installed rear glass today. NEED A WINDSHIELD!!!!! If anyone knows a place in Colorado to get a windshield please PM me. All ready to be put back into the car. New fuel lines and 916 Trans. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif) Thanks!! Too bad it's not a 3.6, but I can't afford one yet. At least I can say the drivetrain is all stock right down to the flywheel and clutch. |

But, if you go for a 3.6 I'll put myself in line for your 3.2 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chowtime.gif) |

In the spirit of this thread, I completed a little project on my 914 on Wednesday!
It started to get VERY stiff throttle actuation from the pedal. I checked the throttle body and it opened smoothly, so I thought it may be the cable, but upon closer inspection, the throttle pedal bell crank (the lever that the pedal rod and the throttle cable attaches to) had broken its weld at the pivot shaft and was pushed out about 30deg. This caused a rub on the pedal board and a poor force moment issue as it was being pushed off to the right instead of a smooth single direction movement. Luckily, I had an extra and once installed, the car drives SO much better! I love the little (but big win) projects! Now, back to the banter... |

Spent most of the day in the shop again, went and met Jim (jcd914) at his work and pick up a male 14 pin connector, Thanks Jim, to wire into my -6 engine harness. Unwrapped the wire harness got it partialy modified and rewrapped.
Built a cradle for the engine to sit on, and got it lifted onto my rolling table. Just need to bolt up the tranny and it will be ready for test fitting. Almost Ready! Jeff |

Well not really did something for the 914 but It was move out of the garage for a few days out in the sun because of my wife C-240. I replaced control arm bushings of this C-240 and finished it yesterday. And this morning my rear bumper cover and foam absorber arrived and was able to install them on our family van. Two weeks ago a young descent 18 year old man rear ended my family while on their way to a christian concert with Paul Baloche in Anaheim, CA. At least my wife and my kids where not hurt.
This young man requested not to claim from his insurance and he just did paid me cash based on the collision shop estimate. What I did is, I ordered the parts online and installed them to save some money from the paid cash and I'm planning to give back a hundred to this young man. |

My engine is out, taking it to Chris Foley to get freshened up. The car itself was delivered to my favourite body man who will do a nice job on replacing the battery tray which has a hole in it. I got the new tray from restoration design, great quality with their parts. I got to know Peter from Restoration Design, as he was my bench partner at Dr. Evils tranny clinic in Ontario, Canada last year. Looking forward to driving my car again, it has been a long winter, I still have snow in the front and back yard!

Yes it does, but my thinking is that the $100 should cover Noel's time (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Yes it does, but my thinking is that the $100 should cover Noel's time (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) The young man paid me $1,183 (based on collision shops estimate) and I only spend around $600 and it only took me 30 minutes to remove the damaged bumper cover and for installation less than an hour (it took me 30 minutes to removed the packaging of this bumper because it really has a very high quality packaging). So $100 is just a consideration for this young man who is only 18 years old but has 2 part time job and full time college student. For that young man, he was able to saved money for his future. Thanks again Mark (Euro911) and 76-914! God Bless! |

With 1 condition - to be an alert driver so it never happens again? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
I understand your reasoning now. Glad to hear there were no[(human] injuries ... I'll probably wash the 'BB' today so we can drive it to Easter festivities tomorrow - but right now (aside from taking a smoke break (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smoke.gif) ), working MBZ wheel #3 Cleaning crud from inner lips and brake dust everywhere else Treating curb rash and feathering scratches and flaking in the OEM clear coat Later that same day: Scrubbed squeaky clean and dried (the one on the right) ... and painted to match the other two (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) I'll be happy when all four are done ... this is tedious work (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/FERG.gif) |

It's been a good and challenging day.....completed my Tangerine header exhaust install and also finished the new shift rod install, also from Tangerine. It went on easier than I expected and the exhaust is so much nicer sounding than my old Bursch.
I also completed my 5 gauge console setup that I've been working on for a few weeks. I just need to recheck my oil pressure wiring, it's not working now..... What a great day! As always, very happy with Tangerine and it's definitely worth the extra $$. I hope to take it out for an Easter drive! |
