Finished my spark plug hole relocation for the 2.0 heads. next a little sanding, then a trip through the blaster for the crusty spots and they will be ready for paint and install. Hey, looking good. Unless you are sending them out for paint, here is a suggestion. Yes, blast them... Then use some engine paint good for high temps, then put them in your oven at 300-ish. Kinda bakes it on. Poor mans powder coat, I call it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif) |

The street crews have our driveway approach torn up, so the 'BB' is stuck in the driveway.
Threw a 5-watt solar panel on the targa-top so it'll start when it's time to test out the new approach (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif) |

Painted them with engine paint then put them under a box with a two light bulbs inside, for a couple hours. I don't know how hot it gets them but the parts always dry real nice. Maybe next time I'll stick a meat thermometer in the side of the box Update Picture |

New curbs and gutters were poured today (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) New approach to be poured this coming Tuesday. 12-foot wide, a whole lot more than the old 8-footer. Gonna make pulling the trailer in and out much easier (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)
Being stuck at home (to make sure they got the curb dimensions right), decided to refurbish my old miter saw stand. New wood top and bottom, and a fresh coat of Rustoleum (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) Gonna head over to the shop tomorrow and play with car stuff (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

Today I hauled my 914-6 track car to Brainerd MN for the Harvey west memorial scca and vintage races. It's quiet at the track tonight but that will all change in the norning. Wow, sounds like fun! I haven't been to B.I.R. in many years . Went there as a kid for the drag races.then over to Pelican Lake for some of the best fishing ever. Good luck! Take some pictures and post a few. ----- Today I got to take the 914 out for a drive to the movies with my oldest(son) - great time! then met the girls(my wife and our 3 daughters) for some Fro-Yo. I still need to bleed the brakes again but seems a bit better each time. Better get it done this summer, because its got to be ready for Octeenerfest! Looks like that should be a Father-Son outing too!! |

Looked like it was thinking about raining on Saturday, so I dug out the "BB's" 'winter' top - but before I installed it, I cleaned up and installed the rear targa pad that Bruce Stone brought me last month. Got all the screws to go in except for the center one (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)
Oh well, it ain't gonna fly off, so I ain't gonna worry about it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) It isn't the greatest, but it's better than my old one. Maybe I can slap some Bondo in the cracks? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I still have boxes of parts in the car from the G&R swap meet last month (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) ... lazy fuch (IMG:style_emoticons/default/slap.gif) |
