Haven't done anything to it for over a year accept add gas! Car has been my daily driver now for 2 weeks since my wife totaled out her car. The car runs great, the only draw back is i cant take my dogs with me and take them swimming at the lake. Hopefully i find a car for the wife soon. She OK? |

Yeah, she's ok the air bag did most of the damage to her. Im going deaf driving the 914 been over 3 weeks now. Sounds crazy but there are days i wish i didn't have to drive it. Still no settlement with the insurance company and haven't found a nice replacement for her Lexus.... I did wipe down the leather interior today with cleaner conditioner.... |

Finally got rid of the skinny stock 165/80 tires and replaced with some 195/65 Falkens. Not the widest by any means but a huge improvement.

The jack stands under the rear were looking lonely, so I jacked up the front and put it on stands as well. At this rate, I'll be ready to do some serious work on her in another couple of years. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif)
Got the fuel tank cleaned out, replaced the hoses, and re-installed. I drained almost 4 gallons of molasses out of the tank. No telling how long it had been in there. I'm not even sure I have the nerve to try to burn this stuff in an old POS lawn mower. Went to install a new fuel filter, and realized the correct one I bought had the 8mm inlet and 10mm outlet. Without the NLA adapter hose it ain't gonna work. I think it will be easier to find a filter with the same size inlet and outlet. |

I was scheduled to meet the buyer of the '67 Bug this AM, but a set of circumstances kept him form showing up. I busted my a$$ to get out of bed and down there early - and for what? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) ... supposedly he'll be come this coming Tuesday afternoon - we'll see (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif) Well, as the sun started to heat up the shop (no insulation), I decided to install my new 15K Kenmore air conditioner (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ... Oh boy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) Bad news. I pulled the plugs in my 2.7L to perform compression and leak-down tests, but only get 180° crank rotation (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) ... Looks like I gotta pull the heads (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) ... stuck valve? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/stromberg.gif) Hey there is a 68 Bug for sale, see it in the background of my photo of my paint project, page 230. You can drive it home! Hey there is a 68 Bug for sale, see it in the background of my photo of my paint project, page 230. You can drive it home! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) I had a '68 looked almost identical to that one (when I bought it). Perfect Wheel in Gardena built some 14x6' for the rears and offset 14x5.5" for the fronts, Pirelli P3's, lowered and an 1835cc DP w/ Bursch flat pack. All ready for paint, then some clown ran into me on the 110 Fwy back n 1980 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)I'd go for a '69 or '70 newer if I did it again ... - drove to work today (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) , - orderd a few odds and ends yesterday including new headliner for the targa - got a brand new thermostat in the mail yeterday from Clark Callis- will install that this weekend. putting together my punch list for the octeenerfest- one thing has me a bit stummped, went to change the light bulb for the right sided license plate light and found there to be no wire in there! so where did it go? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) - the wire that goes from the trunk to the left side- only connects to the left light. i might need some help figuring this one out! |

I have the same problem, but I don't have either one connected. I think the wire just runs behind the bumper pad (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif) |
